According to the BBC it was declared an unlawful assembly and the rally cancelled. Is that incorrect?

Sounds very similar to how we would handle it the UK and far better than some 'free speech' type right to rally and assemble.

It's the 40th anniversary of the Lewisham 77 National Front march a few of us here will remember, when 500 far right extremists were allowed to assemble and march but were opposed by thousands of protesters.

The police tactics that day of allowing the fascists only a brief stroll down some back streets before shepherding them onto trains paid dividends and helped to bring about the NFs demise.

Moron is from Western Europe somewhere and lies about being American. Going to bed at midnight UK time gave that away.

SoShyt is not American or European as he refers to them in the third person. Probably Australian/NZ.

Police earlier fired tear gas against demonstrators and said that arrests had been made after a declaration of unlawful assembly at Emancipation Park.

That's all they say about it afaik.

What mitigates against him being Swedish is his relative lack of interest in the immigration thread that's become Scandinavia-centric.

His repeated use of a c in discusting isn't something I've seen from illiterate Brits before, so I think he's a continental Euro with some phonetic misspellings of less common words he didn't learn as a teenager at school.
