Now, the trend has been downward since a high in 2012 of around 47M to the current range of about 41.5M. However, The trend has been on a sharp decline since about August of last year. Positive numbers for sure, although we only have up until May 2017 so far. Summer months do tend to increase Food Stamp utilization (perhaps with children home during the summer? Or furloughs? I dunno.).

Honest questions jiggly puff. Did the stock market improve under Obama? Did the unauthorized immigrant population increase? How did corporate profits fare under him?

Did the number of federal employees increase is another good one.

Um...you might want to check your facts on this one.

Federal Employee numbers hit record high under Obama:

Well, putting the recovery on the credit card isn't hard.

As for immigrants - it stabilized and decline slightly. That decline is accelerating under Trump.

As for profits, did he ever close those loopholes or bring those taxes back from overseas or did he spend all of his political capital ****ing up healthcare? Oh right....

Remember when trump supporters acted upset at a few tweets a day being posted ITT? Hecka hecka.

You are right. Federal employment increased 1%. I was thinking of overall government employment, which was down over obamas term, compared to up significantly over bushs term. If you want to look at the data yourself you can form your own opinions.

And

You'll notice that federal growth under obama was negative until his last few years when the GOP ran both houses.

Once again you didn't answer my questions because the answers would be giving credit to someone for whatever reason you're afraid to give credit to. You can say that's the wrong word but nothing else makes sense except you're chicken ****.

I can do it, watch. When Trump was running for office he actually mentioned the drug epidemic in the midst of all the other poo being tossed around. Having been affected by that in regards to friends and family members I was glad he at least brought it up. No other way to get the discussion going. That's me saying something positive about POTUS.

It's honestly as if you watched a football game, saw the outcome and then decided that it didn't happen in the way you saw it. You have to understand how insane that makes you.

Yes, we want a space that is safe from brazen, abject stupidity (don't forget, the 'trolling' accusation is actually a compliment, in a way), a fact we don't deny, and you replied to actually highlight this fact.

You... don't really get how insults work, do you?
08-08-2017 , 01:26 AM
I mean, at least when wil calls somebody stupid it's only marvelously ironic, but somehow Jibby finds a way to insult himself even more with each insult attempt.

Is this intentional? Is that how they do things in the bizarro-alt-right-interverse?

I didn't say he didn't do it - I was just criticizing the way he did it. It was the "easy" way out. I don't think he made hard choices and I don't think he showed leadership. But sure, the economy recovered under Obama - as it would have if he had done nothing. Remember, TARP was already done before he took office.

I agree. I have been personally affected by this too. Did you know...that the opiod epidemic is highly correlated to Obamacare Medicaid expansion: http://time.com/4292290/how-obamacar...oid-epidemic/? (I had the actually data, and I posted it elsewhere...found it:

However, good statistical analysis of:

It demonstrates increased Opiod Deaths to states that Expanded Medicaid.

If you increase access to narcotics, populations may take advantage of that increased access.

The data seems sound and the comments try to find other causations. He even has data showing that deaths were relatively even prior to ACA passage and then spikes developed in the expansion states. I'm sure Well Named might have some insight here - however, there are some replies in the comments section to alternative hypotheses.

I think you do yourself a disservice, wil. It took enterprise and hundreds of hours of hard work to finally find someone at desperategirls.com to marry you.

That said - Trump's numbers should be less considering we are getting closer to full employment. Yes Obama kept the economy for going off the rails, but it's not like the Trump "optimism" wasn't there for the past 8 years. Obama could have unleashed it if he had wanted to. Everything Trump is getting credit for is simply from repression under Obama. To his detractor's point - it's not like Trump has really "done" anything *except reduce regulations at a 16 to 1 ratio*. But we haven't gotten tax reform or anything else truly stimulative....yet.

So I guess reducing regulations hasn't increased job growth. "Repression under obama" got us to sub 5% unemployment. Interesting point of view jiggy. Interesting,

You have to admire their abilities, though. I thought "Okay, there's no way these idiots are going to be able to blame a bunch of white people killing themselves with drugs on black people." But they did it. Jiggy is the Elon Musk of racism.

Just to put to rest Jiggy's stupidity:

Overdoses from prescription opioids have been flat. I guess you'll have to find another black guy to blame.

They're not ER doctors you nitwit. I know many people who have prescriptions for both.
(Fentanyl is what killed Prince and Michael Jackson, FYI).

Do you think people are manufacturing fentanyl patches in their basement??

And people are moving to heroin because of the crackdown on pharmaceuticals.

You're a moron.

What's the mechanism behind it being Obama's fault Jiggy? That more people got healthcare? That there wasn't enough consumer regulation? That the feds didn't tell doctors how to treat their patients?
08-08-2017 , 10:01 AM
The Economist does a good job of explaining what actually happened.

Basically doctors prescribed more and more opined prescriptions and pills became more powerful. Addiction rates increased. In order to address this, more restrictions were placed on opiate prescriptions and the drugs themselves were made less susceptible to abuse. So addicts switched to street drugs--heroin, China white, etc.

It was the cracking down on prescription opiate abuse that created as an unintended consequence the overdose epidemic. In this way, one could blame Obama for not having treatment programs in place. None of the states had anything in place either, but at least this criticism of Obama would make sense. In 2016, Obama and congress passed laws increasing funds for the treatment of addiction.
