Actually, it can be both fake and illegal (different items/sentences being fake or illegal), but I, sadly, haven't had time lately to keep up. Fake never means 100% fake.
I actually do have a general comment on the idea of "fake news." The reality is that most news outlets are mostly accurate
in their facts. The question is just what percent error we are willing to live with.
Also, people often don't separate news from opinion. To generalize, news articles are 20-80% fact, and the remainder opinion. We need to be clear when evaluating a source or article about what is fact and what is opinion. People often criticize something as fake new when they don't agree with the source's conclusions (clearly opinion), but the underlying facts are just fine.
I'm developing a view that we all need to stop accusing news sources of being fake news based on their biased conclusions. I don't think the NYT is fake, just biased. FoxNews is also not fake, just biased. Breitbart is probably the same, though I haven't read much of it yet. I'm starting. Found it due to this web site. Thanks.
