It was meant as a response to you in the sense of saying something like:

"sure, the way some people reflexively dismiss complaints about economic inequality is bull****, but there's a valid point in there somewhere about the Clintons being representative of a problem of the wealthy dominating political discourse, and it seeming a bit dubious sometimes when rich politicians who support a system that keeps them both rich and in power complain about inequality".

So now we're down to one unidentified person.

And remember, Trump Jr. said he had revealed "everything," yet he "forgot" to name Rinat Akhmetshin and, according to CNN, another three people, a total of four names left off the list.

Why?

semi-grunching the bit about Chile, but Milton Friedman et all came in with Pinochet in 1973. Chile had a huge economic crisis in 1982. In 1983 their major banks were either bailed out or failed (sound familiar?). After the crisis the free market extremists instituted price controls.

The Chicago Boys ****ed Chile up relative to the rest of Latin America.

Then the government turned left and things started improving.

In 1990 the labor code was reformed with the aim to legitimate unions in order to balance the bargaining powers of employers and employees. Also in 1990 a tripartite agreement between government, unions and employers provided for an increase in the real minimum wage of 28% until 1993. In the first half of the 1990s a significant success on poverty reduction and a bit more equitable income distribution was achieved.

It's hilarious these Russian cucks are still pro trump. Even pro GOP outlets are coming to the truth that trump is severely compromised.

Particularly William. I'm glad you guessed the popular vote wrong, but got the electoral vote right. You are on the wrong side of history. You are on toothsayer's side, which is hilarious! Grow a pair William!!

If you are curious about what happened to the rest of Latin America in 1980, that's when Ronald Reagan became President and started funding death squads and murderous right wing governments throughout Central America. That and the IMF debt crisis and enforced austerity plans.

Destroy their societies with brutal puppets and our drug addictions then cry and complain when they flee and become refugees crossing our borders. About right.

uh when the Chicago boys came in Chile had 500% inflation, it was as bad as current day Venezuela. this is like saying the doctor comes in for surgery and the patient is still sick doctor must be bad.

we can argue whether or not the chicago boys were too extreme, but to see chile as anything other than a triumph of Austrian Economics is being fallacious. They still have the most liberal market and economic system in the entirety of SA.

the government turned left and things started improving what a joke, you gonna blame every problem in SA on drugs or acknowledge that its one of the most socialist places on earth and that has something to do with it problems?

Scandi is more socialist than Latin America on the whole.

Chile had real growth from 1950 until Milton Friedman and the Milton Friedman free Latin America continued on with growth.

Yeah, I pretty much blame all the problems in SA on imperialism of some sort, whether it's the legacy, the western supported governments, the "free trade" deals which are free extraction for the US and protection of US business interests, the right wing governments supported by the US, the Reagan wars which killed a couple hundred thousand people, and the drug war. It's not drugs that are the problem. It's the drug war.

Pretty much covers it.

Hillary gets some blame too. And Bill.

Venezuela then? Bread lines? Sounds awesome!

Venezuela is collapsing into socialist induced chaos

"The country’s GDP collapsed by 19 per cent last year, imports are down 50 per cent, and inflation is running at more than 700 per cent."

Honduras, for example, is still a banana republic. United Fruit, an American company, which changed its name to Chiquita, was involved in the coup in 2009.

400 years of classic imperialism, followed by CIA installed governments that work for US corporations has been the rule in Latin America. And for some countries it still is. Some countries got some independence in the last 100 years, but the IMF and trade deals haven't functionally been much different than imperialism either. Of course you'll blame that on the countries affected, but the deals were mostly made by governments we installed to one degree or another.

"Lol Venezuela" is idiotic. It's as if no capitalist economy has had an economic collapse and places like Scandinavia don't exist.

Venezuela made a big mistake becoming over dependent on oil. Centrally planned economies are dumb, but capitalist countries can also become over-dependent on a specific industry and have that industry crash as well. Also Venezuela has been subject to very damaging sanctions.

Norway is also hugely dependent on oil and much of the industry is state owned or controlled, but the government wisely sets aside much of the money and invests in other industries. That's also socialism.
