The fact of the matter is people who can pay need access to affordable plans. That may get worse and less people will be covered. That's a shame, but how do we fix it and make everyone happy?
We can't, not in this environment. I accept that because I'm a realist and accept the fact that we have to find a level we can live with. Health care has ALWAYS sucked in America! It's never been good! It's never been good because too many people don't want it the way people like you and me want it. I want it affordable and to cover everyone, up until a certain point in cost. If we can't have that than we have to accept it'll be something less than that.
The difference between me and you is I'm ok with it.
The difference between me and you is that while we are both completely capable of logic, you are willing to completely abandon it when it suits your needs.
20-25 million less is estimated to be under insured under Trump's plan than Obama's plan, which is the number you just cited. I won't claim to know the exact number as that would infuriate you, but basic common sense that you can follow is that taking away $800 billion in subsidies will cause alot less people to be uninsured.
Now again, you want to argue about the feasibility of this or that but the bottom line is that he promised healthcare for alot more people that can't afford it, which common sense would require MORE money. Now he is trying to take $800 billion out of the subsidies to give tax cuts directly to the rich. He is not trying to do what he promised and the political system is stopping him as you try to claim. He is trying to do the exact opposite of what he promised and using alot of political efforts to do it.
You can spin, and squirm, and obfuscate, but the bottom line is that this is just an obvious, straight-up, despicable lie.
