I thought you were only asking for examples of how Republicans hurt black and brown people? I don't think anyone would claim that's the only thing they care about. For example, they definitely care about lowering taxes for the wealthy.

On the original question, I would say that beyond deporting DREAMers and the travel ban the most harmful action of the last few months is actually something the Trump administration is going to stop doing, rather than something they are going to start doing. Namely, pursuing criminal justice reform via the DOJ office of civil rights.

Seems pretty racist to say that black people in Chicago don't care about violence in Chicago. Why would you possibly think that?

It's almost too stupid and nonsensical to even be racist but yeah, it's pretty ****ing racist.

You gotta understand there's been a long-ass telephone game happening with these derposphere talking points so by the time they reach the Gustafsons it's garbled gibberish.

Re: President Trump

Hows it racist? Trolly asked "how many brown people will it take...blah blah blah." Why is it ok to ask that question, however to ask the people actually living it in Chicago is racist? You are a fool if you think that. Yea, I am absolutely sure that there are people in Chicago that care, but when they are on pace to tie/beat the death record from last year already, not even half way thru 2017, then it shows that nothing is changing, and yea, 1000 dead isn't enough.

Lol at asking a question being racist, where it is actually the problem. How do you expect to solve that problem if it can't be addressed? Look at the #s from this year to last year....nothing is changing and the people responsible for the carnage don't care, nor are the neighborhoods doing anything to deter it. Send in the national guard to eliminate domestic terrorism.

Re: President Trump

Is that a real question? There were roughly 4300 people shot in Chicago alone last year. They are on pace to tie, if not break that record already, and we are only in May. And with a little research you will see that the majority comes from just a few neighborhoods.

This might explain it too (page 17 has a map)

It wasn't the question, it was the answer you supplied to the question, which stated that the brown people of Chicago didn't care.

This is kind of confusing. But, anyway, last year's homicide total in Chicago was not a record. There was a large increase, but the record, from what I see, is 970 in 1974.

Isn't enough for what? Oh, it isn't enough for black people to care. See?

I totally agree with the bolded. But I don't know how "the neighborhoods" could send in the National Guard.

I'm still confused. If they are "on pace" what difference does it make what month it is?

I wouldn't be shocked if he hasn't seen my 3 posts asking for examples since he often comes in this thread and pastes a link or tweet without reading what we are talking about or explain why he posted the link/tweet.

Re: President Trump

(Can't quote at work for whatever reason, so ill number them)
1.Never said the brown people didn't care. I asked him to ask them how many it takes to care because he is asking people the same exact question. However the #s are facts in Chicago and its alarming.

2.Whats not to understand? This years #s are on pace to match last years #s. Simple math.

3.Again, going back to Trolly's question of, how many is enough? I took actual #s and re-asked the same question. Based on the # of shooting in Chicago this year, the people in the communities where the majority of the shootings occur don't seem to care that much.

4. Where is this "the people responsible for the carnage don't care, nor are the neighborhoods doing anything to deter it. Send in the national guard to eliminate domestic terrorism.", does it say the neighbors should send in the nat guard?

Re: President Trump

13ball,

Do you really not understand the time frame, or realize if the month matters? If we continue not doing anything to change the high rate of shootings in Chicago it has the possibility of reaching the #s we saw last year.
Or, hear me out. Or, people could come up with some sort of plan to try to put a stop to it and prevent it from reaching those numbers since it is only the 5th month of the year! What? Wow, crazy I know, but I guess it's just me being optimistic.

And idk what St. Louis saw per captia compared to Chicago, but I do see a bigly problem in Chicago.

Hi Mr. Gustafson26,

I would like to thank you for your generous contribution to the forum. I am generally a fan of your posting. However, I would like to address a few points in the post quoted supra.

To begin, I am not 13ball, and in fact I only have two balls, but I would like, if you would grant me the privilege (and I am very privileged to be here), to respond to your points.

1) I do understand the time frame, and I believe Thirteen Ball also understands the concept known as time, as such that humans can, however, you may find that the construction of a "pace", as it were, actually adjusts for the concept of time to allow us to compare rates without caring about what month it is.

Secondly, to address the, in my opinion, more pressing issue of St. Louis:

St. Louis had a murder rate of 0.0595530354625655% in 2016, which means that 1 out of every 1,679.175531914895 human beings in St. Louis was murdered in 2016. By contrast, you will find that only 1 in 12,431.3333333333333333 people in the city of Chicago were murdered in 2016.

Sources:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago_metropolitan_area
http://www.cnn.com/2017/01/01/us/chicago-murders-2016/

http://www.riverfronttimes.com/newsb...ly-high-number
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Louis

What make you of this??

Also, I would like to point out that Chicago only had 762 murders in 2016 whereas the state of Florida had more than that so honestly I think we should tackle the issue of certain types of people killing each other in Florida and St. Louis before we worry about Chicago.

Best,
TiltedDonkey

Mr. Tiltdonkey,

Again, as stated in a previous post, I can't quote at work. I know the difference between the two of you. However, I figured you could be smart enough to understand I was addressing both of your comments in one post. But thanks for addressing my points.
Sorry I decided to pick Chicago as my talking point, looks like St. Louis is having a problem too, haven't really looked into it as much.
And a big ol' LOL at comparing the homicide rate between the CITY of Chicago (pop. 2.7 mil) where the majority of murders take place in a very small area, to the whole STATE of Florida (pop 20.27 mil). Why not take individual cities and see where the homicides and shootings are taking place and then I can agree with you that we could, as you say, "tackle the issue of certain types of people killing each other"

Hi bahbahmickey,

I am generally a fan your posting as well; I find the points you make to both be cogent and generally intelligent.

However, a health care plan will certainly be funded using taxes. Taxes are inherently more of a burden on the rich than they are on the poor. Why is this a problem for you?

Hello Gustafson26,

Excuse me if you thought it was insulting their intelligence or suggesting that you could not tell the difference between me and 13ball; It was not my intention. I just wanted to answer the point, although it was originally meant for the bullet.

Yes, St. Louis obviously has a big problem, much worse than Chicago. No need to apologize for choosing to talk about Chicago, but now that we see and we both agree that Saint Louis is a much more problem, I think we should move on to this subject at square. In addition, your LOL to compare the state of Florida to Chicago further strengthens my argument to look at St. Louis, for the population of Florida is 7.446730345334313x Chicago population, while the population of Chicago is 8.575416090404166x the population From San Luis !!

So now that the two have agreed on the urgent issue of certain murders in San Luis, we will discover what types of people is in San Luis do these killings and how to stop it !!!!!

better,
TiltedDonkey
