and not a peep from the media.

can you imagine the outrage from fox news and the right if hillary put chelsea in such a position. and the thing is, chelsea is actually halfway qualified and infinitely more than ivanka.

Sure, when looking through a liberal lens. Which is what you and the NYT are doing. I don't have a problem with that, but just be aware of it. You're not a centrist. Reagan won by almost 20 million votes. That's a whole lot of centrists saying who they preferred.

It's impossible to judge what a centrist would choose based on policy since the spectrum, in terms relative to that era, is effectively defined by the two parties in question.
No, it wasn't defined by two parties. About a third were dems, about a third were reps, and the remainder were independents. Reagan got the vast majority of the last group, and a lot of the centrist dems as well. He even took Massachusetts. lol

Reagan did a lot of scummy things, but in 1984, he was a proven president. He made Americans proud to be American again after two decades of war and economic failures. The change from 1980 to 1984 was one of the biggest in our nation's history. Mondale was unproven, and even though he might have had a better personal philosophy than Reagan, he was not the better candidate for America in 1984. And the centrist voters made that very clear at the ballot box.

I guess you're technically right, but he's still a giant *******--just the way you like it.
WHat part of that speech made you think he was bragging about it or confirming the NFL owner's thoughts that he would do such a thing? It sounded more like he was laughing at them for thinking he'd do that.

I don't want goaTRUMP to be a 7 star. There are actually a lot of things I don't like about him and his tweeting and the way he calls out individuals and businesses is one of them.

Their best example of a "misogynist t-shirt" was two women wearing a t-shirt that said "*****" on it? I wonder why more people aren't buying into the liberal idea that conservatives are racist, sexist, etc.

Come on, man:

Calling a woman a ***** is the hallmark of misogyny, so yes it's a pretty ****ing obvious example.

But the guy calling Michelle Obama a man might be a better example. That seems to be a common belief among stupid Trump supporters.

During the 2016 election, dozens of voters told me they would vote for Donald Trump partly because they were sick of “social justice warriors” and political correctness. “There is no saying ‘Hey, I disagree with you,’ it's just instant shunning,” a 22-year-old told me in a long exchange on the subject. “Say things online, and they'll try to find out who you are and potentially even get you fired for it.”

Nothing was less popular among this cohort than those who targeted someone’s job, or took glee in their denying them the ability to earn a living, over their speech or political views.

And yet, as best I can tell, they are silent this week. There is no appreciable backlash among President Trump’s supporters to a Kentucky rally where he gleefully bragged about his role in publicly shaming a man for his political views, and the ongoing inability of that man to find a job because of his call-out.

They seem ok with everything they complain about as long as its them doing it.

Right, im canadian, supported the conservative party and for a short while campaigned for a conservative candidate. Clearly a liberal apologist with a bias against republican politics.

When I say to look at the resume I mean in terms of the things you'd expect would be relevant for someone trying to hold political office. You're saying that because NYT endorsed mondale that they have a left bias, since reagan was obviously the superior choice. Mondale had a law degree, practiced law for several years, and worked his way up in politics - reagan was a b-list actor until his 50s. I wouldn't say mondale was clearly the better choice either but if you're suggesting that the NYT is lacking credibility for endorsing mondale you haven't made much of a case.

Why are you attributing all of his success to where he sits on the political spectrum? I think what's more likely is that the political landscape shifted to the right because people liked reagan, not the other way around. Take reagan out of the equation and put in a more charismatic democrat and public opinion blows with the wind.

By this reasoning any president who wins is the right choice and anyone who endorses a loser has a bias.

Interesting points. Something to definitely think about.

I don't know how many people have gone to these type of rallies or whatever they are, but we are talking about hundreds of thousands, aren't we? I'm not sure the attendance or how many there have been but the video made it seem like there have been a lot of them.

If that is the case why are we talking about one guy who thinks/like to joke around about Michelle being a transvestite? Out of all of those people the best example of one of them being a misogynist is 2 women?

There is little doubt in my mind that there really are racist, homophobic, and misogynist people at these types of things. Just like those types of people are at nearly any large gathering of people. It is just sad to see liberals reaching to far as to call women misogynist and label a whole group of people as racist.

Steve Bannon is the White House Chief Strategist and now a key member of the National Security Council. Before that, he was the Editor the for the right-wing hate site Breitbart. Hate is in the White House.

Stop changing the subject. Why was the best example of misogyny in all of trumps rally 2 WOMEN wearing a shirt that said "*****".

No, the best example was somebody calling Michelle Obama a man. But those examples are important because it shows that it's not just the fan base, it's the leadership as well. That's a very important connection to make. It shows that it's not just an accident that these people support Trump and right-wing politicians (White Supremacists) like him.
03-22-2017 , 02:38 PM
This is pretty misogynistic.

03-22-2017 , 02:42 PM
The thing you linked talked about how the fan base was misogynist and again the best example they could find was a shirt a couple of women were wearing.

I am not talking about trump being a misogynist or lincoln, cher, jesus, or even christopher columbus. We are talking about the supporters at the trump rallies. Stop moving the goal posts.
