You're going to be carrying a lot of water for Trump doing a lot of bad things in the next 4+ years if all it takes is those actions being legal for you to be like "well, I guess Trump is totally cool here, liberals should really be protesting all the previous presidents and congresscritters that gave him this authority".
You're absolving Trump of any responsibility whatsoever to make the decision to use that authority in a plainly worse manner than any other president ever has, and that is still dishonest trash that you can take elsewhere.
Point to me exactly where I absolved Trump of any responsibility for this action. What he did with what was handed to him was ultimately his decision, but he was handed the keys to doing it. If you are mad at him now, so be it, but that doesn't make you any less ignorant of what Obama had done or hypocritical if you did know.
Rather, it seems as if you are trying to absolve Obama, even though he used the exact same powers to ban Iranian and other nationals with valid visas under this same law as the ACLU and NIAC have clearly litigated out. Sure, he did it on a case by case basis, but he knew that it could be used in the same way as he did with the Iraqi refugees. And okay, if the Iraqi refugee issue wasn't widely known until 2013, why were there no protests when the news came out? John Oliver even did a
segment condemning the Obama administration treatment of Iraqi and Afghani refugees and translators that helped the US military.
But I see you have made some progress, so that's good. You no longer think Trump chose those seven countries because of business reasons and now you understand the legal basis for the Trump Executive Order. If this is something you are pissed off about, then yes, you should be mad at both and not trying to accuse me of spewing dishonest trash when you clearly accept my main points.
Although I support Trump, there are a few points that he wants to implement where I do indeed want meaningful opposition, and I would like the left to provide it. But if the left is going to be completely idiotic and get both the legal basis and the rationale for the seven countries wrong while yelling with their heads cut off, then I cannot possibly have any reasonable expectation for meaningful opposition on the points that I do care about. Right now the left look like downright fools.
