I live in the UK and believe we have a much superior health care system than in the US. It has its negatives sure but so does the American system. Here no one will ever be priced out of receiving health care, living in one of the wealthiest countries in the world and not having money to pay for basic health care seems barbaric to me.
Mind you I did have to wait 3 months for an operation one time....... an ACL injury but the fact that I got my knee reconstructed which allowed me continue playing football and led to me living a higher standard of life was pretty class.
The guy who reconstructed my knee is one of the best knee surgeons in the UK , he also fixed one of my sporting heroes broken leg which was pretty cool. Guy called Henrik Larson who was one of the biggest legends to play for one the the UKs biggest football clubs. So its a bit of a myth that you get crap doctors when going with public health , alot of them do private as well.
Many people living in the states would have not have had that option and bear in mind this wasnt a life threatening injury or even one that would have impacted my day to day life. Just one that allowed me to continue to play sports.
This is very anecdotal I understand but if you are struggling for money you are much better off living in a country which offers free health care and if you are rich here you can go private anyway or even buy health insurance if you would rather do that.
