What does this even mean? Most people as shown are coming from third world countries. Do you need a geography lesson? Again, most people come for work/or to join families. People don't chase freedom and guns and lol "USA values."

Wil, I don't even understand what you're trying to say but maybe look up the Schengen area? Perhaps do some more research, as I always suggest to you every time you get into a discussion topic you are not very familiar with?

Re: President Trump

Americans are not "known to travel extensively." In fact, the reputation is exactly the opposite!

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/natash...b_9214256.html

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/willia...b_1920287.html

Quote:
In fact, when you examine the statistics and thoughtfully dissect them — not something we knee-jerk political junkies are good at! — what we find is a very different picture that reveals that only about 14.6 million American residents actually traveled overseas in 2009. Why you ask are these numbers so different than the larger 30.3 million actual trips taken number? Well here’s why...

Yes, there were 30,300,000 individual trips overseas in 2009...of which 6.2 million (21%) were classified as business trips (investors, customers, suppliers, conferences and conventions), conducted by some 256,000 first-time overseas business travelers, and the remaining 6 million trips were taken by just 2 million tried and true high-frequency business travelers (aka road warriors well-versed in gaming their frequent-flier awards) who averaged three overseas trips in 2009.
https://www.pastemagazine.com/articl...instead-1.html

It should also be noted that Wil's claim that 23 million Americans a year travel to Europe was a giant, giant lie. The real number is about 1/4 of that. Swing and a miss, good job, good effort!

Only 15 million Americans total were travelling overseas 6 years ago, and obviously many were going to Africa/Asia/Australia, with about 1/3 ending up in Europe. I'm sure Wil will apologize for this lie though, or not even knowing that the USA has the smallest number of any Western first world nation of % of people with a passport.

Plenty of third world countries directly south of the USA.

Maybe you need a geography lesson.

There's a limit to how quickly people can be vetted. It limits the amount let in.

Re: President Trump

I just love how Wil never researches anything and will drop really dumb statements that are patented lies like "Americans are known to travel extensively." Only 30% of Americans even have a passport.

Have to quote this before he deletes it. Again, Wil posted a site without actually reading it. Wil, you posted a ranking of who takes the most trips. But, the Americans take the least amount of trips abroad on that list, which was the entire ****ing conversation.

In the span of four posts Wil went from "Americans are known to travel extensively because we love traveling" to "There's a lot to see here and honestly many of us have no desire to go abroad. Why should we when we live in the best country in the world?"

He also lied about the amount of Americans that visit Europe on a yearly basis.
Great job all around.

I didn't lie at all. I could be mistaken but I assuredly didn't lie. Why would I? Why would I care either way? I mean, this is what I read :

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/strong-d...ead-to-europe/

Which clearly says 23.4 million Americans visited Europe in 2014. Maybe it's wrong, but I'm taking it at face value.

We are still waiting for those application numbers.

Re: President Trump

Wil, again, those numbers are total number of people, not distinct people. It also includes people going there for work. The only correct part of your link is that the number of people visiting Europe increases with the dollar. This is common sense as well.

Wil, the only EU country who even has 4% of US visa applications for any category is the UK at 4% for family related claims. The amount of people who try to apply to the USA from western democracies is literally so small the state department doesn't list it in just about every case. All of Europe combined is at under 3% overall.

https://travel.state.gov/content/dam...ngListItem.pdf

Here's the site. Look yourself. People from stable western democracies just don't seek to come to the USA en masse. Most people enjoy where they live, just like you do. You like living in the USA. People in the Netherlands generally like the Netherlands. Same with Italy and just about every other stable democratic nation. How is this not common sense to you? Pride in one's culture, country and place of residence isn't solely an American thing.

Again, I might be mistaken but I'm not lying.

http://www.therichest.com/rich-list/...ional-tourism/

I mean, as a % of population it makes sense a lot of Americans stay home, we have a big ass country and a lot of places to visit. As far as the ones who do travel it seems they travel pretty decently.

And as far lying, I've asked you what, 5 times now for you to prove your applicants criteria. You can't, so now you're trying to obfuscate with this lol travel stat comparison.

Every word out of your mouth is a blatant lie. It's hilarious.

"Every word?" I've posted so, so many more citations than you have.

I literally don't understand what you want me to cite. I understand you have problems communicating things factually and clearly, but perhaps you should attempt this now.
I said that people from western democracies don't want to live in the USA. I cited that they don't apply to live/work in the USA en masse as evidence. Perhaps you could post evidence that they do?

You lied and said that Americans had a reputation for traveling abroad. When I pointed out that the USA has the smallest % of people with a passport of any other G20 country you just said "well, america is so good people don't have to travel." That pivot was an an embarrassment. Pivoting to "amount of vacations" or "Amount of travel" when it was shown you clearly had no idea that the USA has a poor reputation for traveling abroad is shameful. It's hilarious, but shameful. I don't ****ing care if a dude who lives in Montana travels to Ohio. Why should you? It bears no relevance to this conversation.

I didn't say it, YOU did. So, where are all those people applying to that utopia of Belgium?

Don't come up with bad criteria then start sputtering when people ask you to back it up. The US takes in more people than any other country on the planet. More people want to come here, as evidenced by applications, just as you said. USA #1. What's up now?

Wil, you clearly don't understand how people apply for visas in the EU.
You posted that Belgium didn't grant CITIZENSHIP to people much last year. Applying for citizenship is much, MUCH different than applying for a Visa. How are you not understanding the difference between citizenship and a visa?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visa_p..._Schengen_Area

You genuinely appear to have no knowledge of the EU and it's policies. You really, really should read this and understand the vast difference between an American visa and a Visa for this area.

Everything you say is a lie. Sure, I might be incorrect but I'm not lying. Americans do indeed have a lower level of % of international travellers but we rank high on the amount spent. We have a lot of people here and a WHOLE lot of wealthy people.

You are the one throwing out post after post of wordy arguments trying to talk yourself out of that corner. Back your claims up with data. You implied no one wants to live here, and now it's all about Europeans preferring Europe. Lol.

We are talking about Visas and he literally linked this article:
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/wo...3-9013013.html

to refute it. The article is about people applying for CITIZENSHIP to Belgium. He does not know the difference between applying for a Visa with applying for citizenship. How he cannot differentiate the two vastly different words is beyond my ****ing comprehension. He does not understand the visa process and the ability to move around in Europe at all. I'm not even sure he understands what citizenship is at this moment.

Also you can't say USA #1 any more now that the Orange Monster is in charge. We are a joke in the eyes of the world now. Maybe we can regain that superpower status one day but for now we are just another country teetering on the brink of democracy and authoritarianism.
