Guess explaining, again, that pre-'64 Southern, Midwestern, and Mid-Atlantic Democrats ("Dixiecrats") were conservatives who switched parties and began voting Republican in opposition to the Lyndon Johnson Civil Rights Act that allowed blacks to live as equals, would be a waste of time.

Check Georgia's voting history, for example. Other than homeboy Carter twice, and nearby-boy Southerner Clinton once (very narrowly), they haven't touched a Democrat since '60, when they were routinely voting D in Presidential Elections with figures of 60+%. Ditto for Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, etc, and so on.
