I would think I've grown quite a bit as a person over the years. People like you have turned into sheep. If we are talking about becoming more mature and wiser as we get older, I honestly think I have. If you disagree, I won't try to persuade you. Believe what you wish.

I will say, though, as you get older there will come a day where you don't care about yourself so much anymore, and other people become more important than caring about yourself and your own feelings and desires. When I was in my 20s (and some of my 30s) I used to think that was sad and pathetic. I now understand it's possibly the most transformative (and rewarding) thing a person can go through. I could only wish everyone could go through it.

The statues don't mean much. They are, however, historical. If people want to erase them, it could work out in favor or lessening racial tensions.
