Now, the trend has been downward since a high in 2012 of around 47M to the current range of about 41.5M. However, The trend has been on a sharp decline since about August of last year. Positive numbers for sure, although we only have up until May 2017 so far. Summer months do tend to increase Food Stamp utilization (perhaps with children home during the summer? Or furloughs? I dunno.).
