The ones I see/know in PA think of it as being proud of their "redneckness." Wearing camo hats, with fishing hooks on the brim, driving big trucks, general hickishness. Now, that's not say they aren't also racist or think negatively towards minorities also, but I don't believe that's their reason for flying it or that's never been a reason I have heard anyway. They are generally proud of their "country" living lifestyle.

It's obviously a bit of both because the people flying the flag are almost universally white in spite of there being a significant portion of African Americans who live in the country side and are proud of it. I think the idea that the flag is coded for white country living works on a near subconscious level though. People really don't think on why their black country neighbors don't fly the flag.

"Transgenderism is a mental disorder" is not that ridiculous a position. "Transgenderism is a mental disorder, therefore we should go out of our way to be rude to them and/or screw with them" is a ridiculous position.

Both are ridiculous positions. I don't know anyone going out of their way to be rude to them.

However, Transgender activists are going out of their way in being rude to people who do not....conform to their wishes. (Pronouns, separate bathrooms, puberty blockers, etc...)

There are people who are not necessarily transgender, and who find the scapegoating of mental disorder to disguise already known prejudice ridiculous.

Parties who target transgender with mental illness are double bashing all sort of people and making noise around individuals who may be best served seeking mental health counseling.
