This does remind me when I was talking to Islamic fundamentalists and they were trying to shame me because I let my wife work, go out, and hang with friends, etc. by saying that she could be f*cking some guy and I was less of a man by allowing that possibility and that True Men (TM) wouldn't allow that possibility.

The obviously correct answer is if you have a personal hang up with it then you should be open and honest about it. Having a relationship with a transgender person might be a hang up for some people but it might not be for others. Most transpeople are up front for the fear mentioned that someone who gets "surprised" might resort to being angry and violent.

A public bathroom is the sort of high traffic area where stranger rape doesn't strike me as easy to get away with, but if the rapist wants to do it anyway, you can go into the women's bathroom dressed as a man. There's not a ****ing bouncer checking dress codes.

And since it's panicky fears of child molestation specifically, isn't same sex child molestation a concern? It's not like there's evidence that trans people are more likely to be child molesters. And the vast majority of child molestation isn't a stranger grabbing a kid for a quickie in Target, it's neighbors and family members and ****.

3) Should a person be able to press criminal charges against someone who does not use a preferred pronoun, even after being asked?
