The ban will come and go before the court even discusses it again, so it isn't temporary. The court may decide for future actions, but this one is a done deal now.

If anything is troubling about it, it's the fact that the courts ruled against him. They overstepped and caused mistrust in our entire legal system, in my view. That's open to discussion but I bristled when I heard their ruling. Complete joke.

Also earlier you suggested the problem was mind reading, which implies that if the courts COULD divine discriminatory intent then they COULD strike it down. How does that square with your claim that this is the president's power to exercise as he wishes, full stop?

This article by Benjamin Wittes was about the first order, and not the revised version, and it seems like it both makes the argument for why it might have been struck down (it was incompetently written) but also for why you might expect a revised order to be upheld (the President has pretty wide powers in this area). That's why I'm not that confident.
