You are an ignorant fool if you actually believe this.

I'll offer you the bet also. Let me know the amount you wish to wager, I'd rather keep it on the smallish side. Escrow required with you.

I'm not "so sure", it's just a fact that what you were so sure would happen hasn't happened yet. Sorry.

"I'm calling for a total and conplete shutdown of Muslims entering the country!"

-Trump

"Who can know if this is a ban on Muslims? You can't read his mind!!!?!?"

-wil

lol wil, as always. Maybe Alito and Thomas will back this, Roberts sure as **** isn't.

The bet is out there for either of you morons. Free money. Take it.
06-26-2017 , 12:44 PM
No ones taking bets from a welsher.

Which of the moderates is going to back the ban? Roberts? lolKennedy? You're basically counting on RBG to die, Kennedy to retire, and Roberts to switch, so I guess there's a chance.

I've never welched on a bet and we can escrow to ensure there are no issues. Obviously you just don't want to bet it because you know I'll win.

The ban has always been legal. It's his right specifically as president to ban whoever he wants.

You morons lose on every single level. You're wrong about EVERYTHING. Face it, your entire world view is a big fat lie. Everything you've been taught is false. Everything you believe in is horse****.

Wake up and accept it and learn from it or continue to live the rest of your existence in this world in ignorance. It's your life, do with it what you will.

It's free money. Multiple court decisions have gone your way. How could you lose?

Take the bet.

Which Justice(s), wil? Show us how you get to 5-4.

The ban will come and go before the court even discusses it again, so it isn't temporary. The court may decide for future actions, but this one is a done deal now.

You're right.

So how much do you want to bet?
06-26-2017 , 01:01 PM
The absolute certainty of the idiot.

It would be an interesting bet but I'm not sure how to deal with outcomes where some parts of the ban are struck down and other parts upheld, which seems quite possible as an outcome.

Smart people know the travel ban is a dumb and moronic considering how many people form those countries have attacked us on our soil compared to others not on the list where donnie will build hotels. MAGA.

Even your "win" is a sad commentary on your losing.

It's also very possible Trump withdraws the ban since temporary ban will be a moot issue by then, but you just try explaining that to wil.

That could very well happen, but I'm pretty sure he wins completely. I've said it months ago. The entire thing was a joke, in a legal sense.

The entire "ban" was a show. Everyone knows this. That has nothing to do with it being legal or not.

wil barely sounds as coherent as liberals who say "Citizens United was wrongly decided because obviously corporations aren't people", yet he thinks those people are utter morons at the same time he posts on this subject with total certainty. It's amazing to behold.

Not a chance he does this and I'd be willing to bet on this also. He will take it as far as it can go, without a doubt.
06-26-2017 , 01:17 PM
I'll bet $20 (no escrow) that he doesn't win *completely*. By which I mean if the ban is upheld in its entirety I'll pay you 20 bucks. If any part is struck down you pay me 20 bucks. If the ban order is withdrawn or something else happens such that the S.C. never issues a ruling then it's a push.

I have no real confidence about the outcome so I'm not willing to bet more than a nominal amount for fun.

Of course I'm certain, that's why I offered to put money on it. I actually looked it the **** up. The lower courts ruled against Trump and I still predicted he would win the case and his ban would be upheld. Why would I say something I didn't believe?

The ban has always been legal. Let me say that again just to get it through your thick head - the ban has ALWAYS been legal. It's his right as president, it's specifically given to him. Anyone with half a brain knew this from the very beginning.

If anything is troubling about it, it's the fact that the courts ruled against him. They overstepped and caused mistrust in our entire legal system, in my view. That's open to discussion but I bristled when I heard their ruling. Complete joke.

Hah. Ok. 20 bucks. No escrow to well named.

Let me know when the final ruling comes down and I'll ship you the beer money.

Can you elaborate on this, in your own words? Since you're a legal expert and everything.
06-26-2017 , 01:25 PM
Also earlier you suggested the problem was mind reading, which implies that if the courts COULD divine discriminatory intent then they COULD strike it down. How does that square with your claim that this is the president's power to exercise as he wishes, full stop?
06-26-2017 , 01:26 PM
This article by Benjamin Wittes was about the first order, and not the revised version, and it seems like it both makes the argument for why it might have been struck down (it was incompetently written) but also for why you might expect a revised order to be upheld (the President has pretty wide powers in this area). That's why I'm not that confident.

I guess you forgot to read the part where Trump already withdrew the first version of his ban?

I'm not a legal expert on anything. I'm not a lawyer. Fly studied law, ask him.
