This article in 538 today about the effect of the increase in Seattle is interesting. Some (as-yet-not-released) research suggests that it may in fact be counter-productive to raise minimums as high as Seattle has, although there are caveats to the results. One way or another, it will be nice to have an actual empirical case study rather than only theoretical arguments. If it turns out to be the case that the theoretical arguments against minimum wages are demonstrated in Seattle, liberals need to process that information and think about other ways of approaching the problems MW laws are trying to solve.
