Let me introduce you to human beings. First thing, we always impale there. Always, that is, unless threatened. Why? because we don't want to prostrate ourselves which, with humans, is often the second phase following any sort of reflective admission of error.
Remember when Biden let the truth slip out about Saudi Arabia and ISIS? He was then threatened into lowering himself to apologize to people who, in addition to cutting people's heads off for the crime of witchcraft, actually did those very things Biden said they did. There might not be real threats on a message board, but the instincts still rule and so everyone stands by every thing they have ever said, for all time, without reservation.
