Sad tale? Absolutely. But let's be real here, Dems aren't blameless. They had a Fillibuster proof majority in 2010. It was a short period. Nonetheless they also had many Republicans in the 1st term of the Obama admin who were on board with immigration reform yet nothing happened (they almost got it done with Repub majority in GWB's second term). In other words the Republicans weren't anywhere close to being united on the issue of immigration reform so even with 58 or 59 Dem Senators they could have gotten a bill passed.

We don't know who committed the other 90% of threats to JCC. We have no reason to assume their ideologies, motives or personal traits.
