It's pretty hilarious that the administration basically shut down today to try to let the good press from Trump's speech last as long as possible, but couldn't even get through the day without a new scandal emerging.
03-02-2017 , 01:32 AM
Worth noting that a couple days ago, one of my least favorite Congresscritters - Darrell Issa (R-CA) - called for an independent investigation of Russia connections and for Sessions to recuse himself - and that's before this latest news broke. As more of their own are forced to confront this issue, it's going to become harder for Republicans as a whole to just act like everything's okay and there's no story here.

So now that humpty Trumpty has had his hand slapped and physically forced to watch the how to act like a president power point presentation, (he was given credit on the flip flopping portion pre-speech) how long until we see the Don of old that we have grown to love?

Both are absurd. Saying something stupid like conservatives=nazis is an easy way to get conservatives to dismiss anything you say, regardless of its merit.

If you're truly interested in changing opinions (unlikely, all of this 'debate' here amounts to poo flinging, which is fine) the way to do so is to find some common ground, then demonstrate how those beliefs might lead people to different conclusions than what they previously believed.

But most of you are clearly off the rails and spiraling into frothy cariactures, so here we are.

Well, he didn't say that. You know there are a bunch of strands of white supremacist ideology aside from neonazism, right?

That's not small government at all, those are all authoritarian actions to put white supremacy into action through violence. Same thing with less restrictive gun laws, "stand your ground" laws that have been shown to be racially applied through the courts, and Voter ID laws which make it harder for minorities to vote. These are all big government ideas. The only time they really want small govt is when it comes to enforcing civil rights, like with the transgender bathroom memo put out by Trump's admin. This is why "state's rights" is such a sham. It's always a state's right to disenfranchise or take away civil/human rights from its citizens that they're arguing for.

Srsly, pull the thread on any conservative stance sweater and we see what unravels.

There was a time when I said that the Democrats would rule the show for multiple cycles. I was wrong. We are entering a period where Trump will look like he will run multiple cycles, and I'll most likely be wrong, due to every group over-reaching.

The great game goes on, to believe your side is correct forever is loltastic.

You are advocating for applying zero critical scrutiny to the operations of our military - the operation of which is perhaps the single greatest responsibility of the office of the presidency - lest we upset anyone's feelings. I could also point out that the president you support paraded Benghazi Mom on stage at the RNC but that's frankly boring in the face of how plainly stupid your logic is here.
I literally reported his post based on the fallout in my brain after reading it.

The man was doing his ****ing job and he died in the process of it. It wasn't his call and I don't think a single person thinks anyone purposefully sent a special forces team on a raid simply to waste their time, correct?

So even if a mistake was made, and there's no way to tell if it even was a mistake, what good comes out of saying so? They made a decision and they went with it. Sometimes that doesn't work out, as anyone here who has ever had to make a hard call knows. You make the best decision you can at the time with the information available.

What good comes out of creating an atmosphere where the person's family feels as if they may have died in vain? It's downright insulting. The men fighting and putting their lives on the line do it without question and they are more than willing to carry out orders that are deemed necessary. You think they don't know that sometimes the results aren't optimal?

I really wonder about you people sometimes. Do you ever stop and think about these topics you spew about?

Should Trump have said "too bad your husband died for nothing, lol. Thanks Obama."?

I really question the motives for posts like yours. They never want to lose a guy like that and I'm sure there's some real heartache behind the scenes, by the people who made the call, over his death. Those men bleed country and people like you sit back and criticize like children after the fact. You'll pump your fist chanting USA when they take out Osama but when there's a mistake somewhere all you do is bitch.

You sitting here taking a cheap shot over it because you want to trash Trump is kind of despicable.
swing and a miss

Welcome to the Alabamafied States of America.

Quote:
Last summer, when Alabama completed its Unholy Trinity of political scandals, I wrote a warning to our fellow countrymen: Don't let this happen to you. I meant to sound an alarm against the Alabamification of America (a phrase which Drew Pendergrast at the Harvard Political Review last week took a lot further than I had).

At the time, our governor was under investigation (he still is) for abusing his office while pursuing a love affair. Were he to be impeached, that state House proceeding would have been led by a speaker then under indictment (now convicted and gone) and the trial in the Senate that followed would be led by a Alabama Supreme Court chief justice who was likely to be removed from office, again, by the Court of the Judiciary (he was and is now gone, at least until he runs for Senate).

At the heart of it, the Alabama Problem is a simple one to explain: When the majority party fails to hold its own to the same -- or preferably, higher -- standards it holds the opposite party, corruption and incompetence are inevitable. And when citizens treat their respective parties with the same reverence as college football teams and they excuse away the sins of their politicians like recruiting violations or so many $100 handshakes, they give those officials license to lie, cheat and steal.

All these amateur Monday morning quarterbacks lobbing up their scud missiles that are harmlessly landing in an open field.

Meanwhile, President Trump is positioning himself to be the greatest President ever. Van Jones was blown away by Trumps address to congress......VAN JONES!!!

Are you finally ready to get on the Trump train?

He does make a really good point. If liberals believe Russians were behind the hacks and Russia wanted goaTRUMP to be president why wouldn't hillary's email be the first thing they hack and share all that info?

As a side note my bovada account got hacked last night. Someone went into my bovada account and placed 4 bets on hockey (I don't bet hockey) and won all 4 for a total of over $100. Also, I used to never get spam in my gmail account and last night I got about 400 to my inbox and thousands to my spam.

Spoiler:
Russians loving hacking and hockey. Clear cut case the Russians are coming after me.
