Wait is this the thread where I get triggered and furious at somebody for having the audacity to aggregate the current news with a choice selection of relevant links?

Cuz I'm looking for that thread.

Sidney Blumenthal: A short history of the Trump family

You can correctly argue he's biased, but take things like this:

Quote:
Born with a silver spoon in his mouth, he insists that he has pulled himself up by his bootstraps. But, as well as staking him to launch his real-estate career, when the Taj was sinking like Donald’s own private Titanic, Fred Trump rushed to the casino to buy $3.35 million in chips to buoy his flailing child, who used the money to avoid default by making an interest payment he wouldn’t otherwise have had the liquid reserves to meet. A straight loan would have put Fred Trump in the lengthy queue of creditors. With his loan in the form of chips he could redeem it as soon as his son had the capital. The New Jersey Casino Control Commission ruled a year later that Fred Trump had engaged in an illegal loan and that Donald should return it, which would have forced him into instant bankruptcy. The Trumps blithely ignored the finding and instead paid a meagre $65,000 fine, though the manoeuvre failed to save the casino.
Bias or not, these are facts, he really was bailed out by his dad and really was fined by the state for the illegal loan.

Nah, she deserves the abuse. One of my major gripes with Trump is that HRC is still free, she needs to be locked up in max security.

Exchanging legal tender for some casino chips...damn that is truly some shady stuff.

LMAO, sorest ****ing winners of all time. Nothing she's accused of actually happened and all of it is being done right now by Trump. Where is your outrage for Trump?
02-13-2017 , 04:33 PM

Yeah, it is, there's a reason the gaming commission fined him for it. But more than that - how pathetic is it that "billionaire successful businessman" Donald Trump had to be bailed out by daddy gifting him an interest-free illegal loan for millions? To hear Trump tell it, his dad gave him a "small sum" in like the 70s or whenever and Trump did the rest. Nope, false, he had to go back for more $$ like a spoiled trust fund brat.

Thanks.

From the first article:

"The public outcry over the lengthy detentions and deportations of women, children and people with minor offenses led President Obama in his second term to prioritize convicted criminals for deportation...."

"David Marin, ICE’s field director in the Los Angeles area, said in a conference call with reporters Friday that 75 percent of the approximately 160 people detained in the operation this week had felony convictions; the rest had misdemeanors or were in the United States illegally."

This is messy and Obama wasn't sure what to do either.

Sounds very focused on felons. Also, there doesn't appear to be any record of non-felons being deported. They may be picked up and later released still - maybe.

I would also like to know what happens to the woman in your previous article - the woman with a felony conviction for identity fraud, where it was purely to get a fake social security card so that she could work. I suspect that if she is released, that will be swept under the rug, but either way, I'd like to know.

Haven't read your second article yet.

nope.

you are the scumbag.

you advocate tearing families apart. you advocate inflicting immense emotional pain and resource hardship on ppl only bc they look different than you.

many of these ppl have been in this country longer for over 10 years and have family here and have contributed greatly to this society.

you are a detestable and hateful person.

pdox - I think the second article is just summarizing Trump's Twitter reaction to the criticism (that is, to ignore it):

According to the most recent article I could find about her story here she was already deported to Mexico 3-4 days ago.

You're right that it isn't clear yet if non-felons are being deported or just rounded up before being released, but this is certainly a distressing turn of events for anyone hoping only convicted criminals would be deported as you previously expressed.
02-13-2017 , 06:27 PM
He's just keeping his promise goofy. Weird huh.
02-13-2017 , 06:48 PM
He said they would not go after non violent ppl. They most certainly are tho.

I know we have important existential problems like mouthy women on college campuses, but the freedom of speech scolds might want to check out the right wing and how they long to imprison their political enemies. In max security.

The "right's" abandonment of presumption of innocence remains revealing.

They are "corrupt" because they are your political enemies. Any objective definition of "corrupt" that puts Clinton in jail, puts Trump in jail as well.

From the story:

Quote:
The network also added that aides used cellphone camera lights to illuminate various documents brought to the tables. If the staffers didn't use secure phones, the practice could spark national security concerns since cell phones are connected to the internet and could presumably have their cameras hacked.

As national security officials worked, the dining hall continued to operate business as usual, CNN reported, as waiters continued to serve the leaders their food as guests looked on.
Amazing, just an utterly incompetent and clueless group of people
