Ninth Circuit denies DoJ a stay in the travel ban TRO. Will probably get appealed to SCOTUS but I believe Trump will need 5+ votes to reinstate the ban, so either a liberal has to break or they have to wait until Gorsuch is seated (and not have Kennedy/Roberts break).

Here is the process. Note that less than 1% of the applicants even get past stage 1. Also they have in-person interviews with Homeland Security well before the end of the process

How is some CBP yahoo going to do a better job in 4 hours of questioning than the rest of the people and processes have done over 4 years? I'm not sure what else needs to be put into place over the next 120 days to make things even more secure.

The ban will expire way before Gorsuch is seated.

The bad news is now Trump's team is reworking the ban and will issue another in the future that may not be so obviously problematic.
