You can discuss moderation of this thread here along with any other moderation issue. Not really sure how that wasn't clear before but it should be now.

OK.

This over zealous moderation is a constant source of annoyance to people who have their posts deleted for no reason other than they've continued an interesting discussion that is causing offence to no one and which is well within the forum wide rules, but which has grown organically beyond its designated box.

Instead of killing the plant entirely, you should be showing some respect to posters who are probably enjoying their somewhat time-consuming labour, and replanting it elsewhere.

Given the moderation team's desire to not have a thread devoted to a single person, you're probably going to deal with a lot of wil derails as he seems incapable of not making threads focus on him.

It's the perfect situation for a containment thread, but if you're against containment threads then I guess enjoy all the needless work you're creating for yourselves

The moderators had a dump thread and closed it. Maybe they should have thought that one through a little more, but as most decisions made in this forum due to lack of transparency we can only guess as to the reasons.

The mods created this situation, not the posters.

There's two separate things

1) the !!!threads are gone because we are no longer allowing old style PU attacks in this forum. Sorry but that's simply how it is.

2) low content threads. In the past we had at least 4 other threads available and we still had to delete LC/poster related posts from here regularly. So it's not really correct to blame closing the other threads for the recent derail. There would be a stronger case for a dedicated LC thread if posters would stick to it and avoid going !!! (So to speak).
