As I've argued before, if we are to have PC rules here, they should at least be consistent and based on rational principles. So at least it makes some sense not to allow terms like gay, tranny, or racial terms to be used as insults based on the principle it shouldn't be considered bad or undesirable to be gay, trans or of any particular race. That's still up for debate in some circles, but it is at least holding to a consistent rationale to name those terms off limits.

But terms like lardass, ugly, idiot, ******, etc., describe conditions that are and should be insulting, based on the principle those conditions are not desirable. They should either all be off limits if you disagree with that principle, or else they all should be fine to use as insults.

It effectively comes down to who can talk the mods into what is offensive. Which is why the entire process is stupid.
