If there is one thing I'd want you people to realize, it's that you quite literally have liberals and leftists to thank for your existence. That's the sometimes annoying part of egalitarianism: Ungrateful mental defects like yourselves aren't left to die in the street.

In a few hours the forum will be read only. In a few days, after any threads are moved to other forums, the lights will be out.

I'm not changing my mind on this. It's just become too much of a hassle that negatively impacts my personal life. And in my discussions with Mason, we didn't see that it was particularly good for business. He gave me the thumbs up on closing it a few weeks ago.

In a few months. Months; not days or weeks. If there are people who think an alternative politics forum is a good idea and there is a moderator who wants to take it on. (A moderator who is supported by a wide variety of people) I would consider opening something new.

FWIW, I called next "dibs" when chezlaw was made a mod. I can guarantee my vision would (a) very different, (b) more fun, (c) as open as can be.
