People wanted it more PUey. My strong personal preference is to cut out the trolling and LC posts (and take other measures as required to keep it on topic and engaging) but the rules are going to apply to everybody equally. The problem is chez' base is posters too ****ty for the regular population, he can't admit that so he has to argue they aren't bad posters, just posters oppressed for their views. It's all horse**** though but it's the bed he's made.

I don't think people railing to close the forum bring much value to the place fwiw.

I suggest we return to this topic when Well Named is back.

I'm probably not going to take my hat off about individuals but personally I much prefer constructive discussions.

Regarding the rules, there's not one regarding sock puppet propaganda accounts. So if there were such accounts, which I strongly suspect mongidig and JiggyMac of being, then they wouldn't be breaking any rules by conducting their psy-ops freely on this forum. Cows has turned into an extremist.

It appears after I get done trashing people they become more extreme. I might be to blame. Maybe I shouldn't choke-slam people so hard when arguing against them. They get distraught and many of them start foaming at the mouth.

When we have deleted such posts in the past, people complained that the deletion "protected" the poster since nobody could see what a crappy post it was after the deletion.

So the mods have generally adopted a public warning system for crappy posts. If the poster continues to violate the forum rules, then ever-increasing timeouts could result.

(And, yes, I acknowledge that the threat of a possible future timeout is fairly weak sauce.)
