That should do it.
You always sound precocious.

That scores a grade level of 160.9.

Pfft. I got a 38.1. And I didn't need no stinking Mary Poppins words.

What do you know? Dude is better than ikes

So is everyone else of course
04-22-2014 , 10:15 AM
I notice you left the periods off your sentences
04-22-2014 , 10:45 AM
Surprised pvn wasn't a similar post count to words be post outlier like ikes was.

That's probably the best metric for ****ty posting possible. A long winded blowhard is better for a forum than a never ending series of lol posts.

shockingly, dids believes his AIDS is the best AIDS.

It would be pretty fascinating if posting style was as indicative of amicability as, say, being aligned on hot-button socio-political issues. This might suggest that communication similarities would be as telling as value similarities when it comes to who we get along with and who we don't.

sounds like some good lolsocialscience to me. You should get right on that.

I still cant wrap my head around how a psyd student interacts with you and is like, "Yup, this Ikes guy is a winner, I want to marry him."

You should ask her tonight how much research on communication informs clinical practice, then make sure to get back to us on how similar your views are with hers IRT her future life`s work / vocation.
04-22-2014 , 04:48 PM
You can't wrap your head around it because you're an idiot. It's not very complicated. Not sure if there's anything to be done for you.
04-22-2014 , 05:05 PM
1. You discredit, without caveat, all things socially scientific.

2. You and a social scientist allegedly opt to tie the knot.

And no, having a negative outlook about social psychology does not make her any less of a social scientist. She's on the brink of getting a PsyD, she's gonna be a social scientist whether you like it or not.

But we should stop here Ikes. The last time we broached this topic you got so frothy that this psyd wife of yours had to tag in to bail you out. The good news is it resulted in the highest content post of your 70,000 post history.

I've done the last dozen or so DrModern posts and I'm surprised the grade level was only 8.2. I think that's because most of them were replies to posts. That's another flaw with this measurement - a good poster engages in conversation, and the best way of doing that should reply to many individual points rather than the post as a whole. That style favours short sentences.

On the other hand people really get their jimmies rustled when posts are broken up into chunks and replied to point-by-point.

Man I wish we had a bad posters thread for DIB and ikes to continue discussing, um, social science and marriage.

I have DrModern at 11.12 over 13 posts in Q1, so I think your initial read was correct.

This recent op-ed by John Paul Stevens scored an amazing 18.19.

94 years old and still a boss.

Duker, how bad am I?

My punctuation and all that is terrible, but I have an ok vocabulary, defend my positions well and explain my reasoning.

Outside of my whole racist/sexist thing.

Likely among the worst I'd assume because of my substandard education.

(This probably explains goofy's high score).

Whoa we can get results?? Post mine, I got nothing to hide!

Predicting I'm towards the bottom of the list with my words/post ratio.
04-22-2014 , 11:04 PM
Predictably, I didn't fare well. 43 in syllables 48 in words per sentence out of 50. Although I'm led to believe this isn't that bad because a wider range of readers "aka fellow morons" might understand me better
04-22-2014 , 11:06 PM
We understand what you're saying just fine, Ledout.

The words/post scores are actually not hidden. In the 3rd chart in the OP, you're showing about 15 words/post for 436 posts. This is definitely on the low end.

For readabillity, you scored 5.65 (46th out of the top 50 posters in Politics). I'll tell you the same thing I told LedOut:

I wouldn't make too much of it. As others have said, this measurement rewards puffed up vocabulary and run-on sentences. I think it probably correlates closely with how much reading you did when you were a kid.

Up to a certain point, lower can be seen as better since this means you're writing has a higher "readability" and is therefore more accessible to a wider range of readers.

I also learned as part of this project that Google's advanced search page allows you to filter results according to 3 different reading levels (basic, intermediate, advanced). I assume they're using the FK score or something similar to do this.
04-22-2014 , 11:32 PM
I knew it wasn't hidden. I was saying (well, trying to anyways) given how it matched with the others I would guess the grade level would be towards the bottom of the list.
