I'm defining a "hot take" as a brief and unorthodox view that is well-reasoned but not at all researched. Hot takes should be provocative but not deliberately trollish. They are the kind of thing you read, think about, and find interesting even if you don't necessarily agree with them. Also, they should be political ldo.

After a month or so, there will be voting on the best take.

I'm gonna go with my standby that 95% of the "tech revolution" is useless nonsense that has not and will not change the world in any meaningful way.

I actually post very little and very innocuously in SE outside of the ballgahzi thread. I made fun of nath for like 5-6 posts in the bad posters thread for being such a special snowflake and delicate hothouse flower (he is). But other than that this summer it has just been a smattering of innocuous posts in the NFL off season thread.

I mean I made fun of nath for thinking that DRU BREE is the third best QB in the land, but if you're going to ban people for that I don't want to live on this planet anymore. So I have no idea who this nut shot guy is or why he wants to ban me but I'm not too worried about it.

Hot Take = The country is run by morons. You go into any city, State, or Federal government jurisdiction and all you see is gross mismanagement and basically those with theater arts degrees making key engineering decisions.

Somehow the government can run the most efficient, effective, and deadly military in the world (according to everyone on the right), but they are utterly incompetent at running anything else.

I sincerely believe that Donald Trump was soft on John McCain. I haven't researched deeply into the incident in which he was shot down, but based on McCain's service record, I suspect it might be more likely that McCain was shot down due to poor piloting rather than Vietnamese skill at sing surface-to-air missiles.
