Well, my observation isn't born out of a stereotype. I've paid attention to the wait times, per line length, across many visits. There's a clear cut difference. Now, there could be some sort of spurious factor at play, but who knows.

Pretty much this. In high school I remember one of my teachers explaining the concept of "de mañana" and implying that our friends down south are lazy, but my experience has been quite the opposite. Most mexicans I've worked with have been pretty hard workers compared to their american counterparts.

It's a stereotype that immigrants from any country are harder workers than Americans.
