"My son just had major surgery. He's 4. One of the most emotionally draining experiences of my entire life. It is absolutely ****ing terrifying that Ike is a doctor. Not because he holds abhorrent political views - that's fine. But the absolute refusal to consider that he is ever wrong is downright terrifying."

Under the circumstances, Ikes could have just not responded, but context.
Yep, context, the ikes smear in the previous post seems to be SOP for a lot of posters in the other forum. Clearly riverman went out of his way to take an unnecessary shot at ikes to which ikes responded. My view is that anyone who judges ikes future effectiveness and competence as an MD due to his posting on 2+2 politics forums is at best being silly and at worst hitting below the belt/taking a cheap shot. Judging people's future professional competency based on 2+2 political forum posts really?

Of course, that's not true, as I said earlier getting that degree was probably the dumbest thing I ever did. But it's hilarious that you think that there is a disconnect between being smart and well educated and having an engineering job in a manufacturing plant. As others have said, this sort of thinking shines a bright light on your own insecurities.

Well, if you're going to wholesale make up new things for me to believe then you can win an argument! Like 5 people in my family, including my dad and grandfather, have the general type of job you have. I'm not making fun of where you are, but how you got there. Funny how you 'find' details that you want in this conversation, while ignoring details like, the bottom of a poster for instance.

lol

And as far as "making fun of how I got there" I already said I was stupid for getting the degree I did. So it's not like I'm saying I didn't screw up, I've been saying I did the whole time!
07-18-2015 , 10:23 AM
yes, it's called trolling. I'm also quite certain that PhD studying mjkidd thought the same thing.
07-18-2015 , 10:26 AM
"thought the same thing?" what? No idea what you're talking about.
07-18-2015 , 10:31 AM
right i'm sure little doctoral candidate mjkidd really wanted to take his chemistry knowledge into.... working at a paper mill!
07-18-2015 , 10:31 AM
I didn't read the post yet, but I saw hate-shill frommagio is still pretending to be an unchained poster in the mod thread.

I don't think I really had as strong an opinion about working in paper mills as you seem to have. And you having such a strong opinion on the subject is rather odd, since I suspect you know next to nothing about papermaking. I certainly didn't know anything about it.

I love going to places like paper mills, and the show How it's Made, way back to those little segments on Mr. Rogers at factories and businesses when I was little.

I guess a chemist/chemical engineer might imagine working at a university lab, but outside of that some industrial setting seems pretty standard.

Nothing exciting. He knows what his dealing with now which must be nice for him.

Anyway, pleased you're still with us. The sadness of the kids is a bit depressing but they're trying to put a brave face on it by claiming something silly bless 'em. Except for one of the trollies who's asking himself why his here.

You must be smashed. It's night where you are right?

Chezlaw, you're literally the most pointless person who comes around PU. All you do is whine and use thousands of words without actually saying anything coherent. Why are you here?
07-18-2015 , 11:41 AM
Why are you here you stupid ****? you think the forum should be terminated.

You do realise you could just not come here and that would work for you just as well?

Yeah, that's a weird, uninformed jab. If you're a chem student you almost certainly envision yourself potentially working in an industrial plant or an oil rig or something like that.
07-18-2015 , 12:04 PM
I sure as hell would rather work at a paper mill than a chemical plant. There's a big Dow Plant not too far away from me and I hold my breath when I drive by it. A paper mill might not smell like roses, but that place smells like paint thinner or something.
07-18-2015 , 12:07 PM
Ya, it's not a career path for people who are squeamish around horrible smells and dangerous chemicals. It's not all glamorous stuff like CSI or cooking meth.
07-18-2015 , 12:10 PM
What's sad is most kids have no idea what they want to do, so they just do what their elders advise them, only to realize much later most of their elders still don't know wtf they're doing either.

How dumb are you actually?

You whine and whine and whine about this or that action a mod takes. Incoherently babble about something literally nobody understands. Then try to point your finger at someone who hasn't been whining about this forum in awhile.

Yeah, I don't think this forum should exist if it is just a haven for spamming idiots and racists. But the new mods seems to be trying to steer the forum away from that. So just like everything else you spew, your point isn't valid.
07-18-2015 , 12:11 PM
Besides acting like a spoiled two year old, why are you here?

Paper mills can reek too.
07-18-2015 , 12:19 PM
Paper mills smell like straight garbage, but try working at a haz waste incinerator on the day they bring in the mercaptans, you'll understand the stench of hell.
