It was a reference to the fact that many new immigrants from Ethiopia to Israel often come from extremely rural areas... of Ethiopia. The Misrad haklita (absorption office) has failed miserably at acclimatizing them and adapting them to modern amenities, ranging from how mortgages and national health insurance works, to amenities we take for granted like modern municipal plumbing systems.

In the context of shooting the **** with family and friends, I've heard that they occasionally see people there taking ****s at the side of the house (and visible from the street) because when the plumbing doesn't work or whatever, that's where they go because it was standard back in Ethiopia, because I guess there was no privacy or shame around that stuff.

This was all in the context of explaining how difficult it is for new immigrants in a different society, and how certain areas of modern medicine may yield some misunderstandings about side effects. but everyone jumped on it because 2p2.
