Let's get started in earnest by dredging up our quotes from SMP since that is the official intellectual haven inside 2+2.

Sorry, but salons aren't my thing.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Damn, now I have the feeling of stalking zikzak. I am not, I swear.

I think, that this is actually a good idea Deuces. But I don't get your point. Do you use space as a dimension or just a filler word? And why wouldn't they evolve as a threat just because their evolution is conditioned to our evolution?

I meant a collection of elements or categories along which some like evolution might score or measure. So life could evolve according to some measure along various categories and machines along another set.

Machines are our tools. They evolve in the space defined by our needs. We don't need for them to qualify for personhood or anything like that. We already have enough people. Yes, we like them to make decisions, but only according to the paths we preset, not unpredictable paths (out of a certain range). I mean, you don't see corn evolving brains. How are food organisms evolving? Into better food (with some ups and downs but still). Machines can get faster and even "smarter" without evolving useless (from our perspective) self awareness.
