I'm saying this, because the same tactics were used when we had protests here.
The rulling party at the time paid neo nazis to make troubles and fight with police , so they could then later critizes the protests and protesters.
They got caught tho, because they are dumb ldo.
Interesting post. Thanks.
Could you please say which of your protests you are refering to where your (British?) government sent neo-nazis?
I agree that regimes often sends agent provocateurs to discredit protests. There is plenty of evidence for this.
I have also contemplated the scenario that Yanukovitch might have sent the nazis, but I have strong doubts. My arguments are the following:
Svoboda is strongly anti-Russia, they have symphaties for the Hitler dictatorship, they are pro-Nato. Yanukovitch however is leaning toward Russia, hence leaning toward anti-Nato. This is the first reason why I think that the two have incompatible interests.
To understand the second reason you have to know the history of the secret
"stay-behind" armies. These groups have commited many terrorist acts. They have an extreme anti-communist and nazi ideology. They are financed and coordinated by the western secret intelligence services. My suspicion is that after the cold war, or maybe even already during the cold war, such armies have also been built in eastern countries.
And it's still gong on. It is a fact that the German secret service even to this day still channels money to German neo-nazi groups under the pretext of financing their informants there. It was a big scandal in the press, and they played the incompetency card (sorry, we had communication problems, and some incompetent people, etc), but after a while the press got bored, and the secret service continues this practise.
Interestingly, between 1991-2003 "Svoboda" used the "Wolfsangel" symbol. The same symbol was used by the nazi stay-behind group called "
Werwolf". The nazi
headquarter in Ukraine was also called Werwolf btw.
