You missed the part where I said that Baja Politards isn't broke, so doesn't need fixing. Remember... I'm the one Politard famous for trying not to change people.

However... outside of Los Dos Politardias, in what we call IRL, consensus decision making process is exactly how being UNCHAINED is done. You'd think that the theory, history, and practice of this shiz would, at least, be of passing interest to let's say... Politards.

I'm digesting this quickly but I don't necessarily see the difference between what's going on now and your King of the Politards proposal.

I do think that the community's input on any kind of guidelines that we have in place for this forum are welcome. (Like what is happening now.)

I was actually pondering the whole Bahbah issue myself. I think what you propose is fine. If someone is banned from the regular forum we can discuss whether or not what lead to the banning would be acceptable here or if it should apply here. I still consider this an extension of the regular politards forum. This is just like the "late night" version which is a little looser. We won't sue MIA for using the middle finger. But we're booking White Power bands for the half time show either.

Well I can drive to LA, or take the train. I'm going to end up starting and ending at the same points... so there's no real difference in outcomes. There is, however, a difference in how things got done... driving -vs- riding. A difference in process. And we gotta word for that general kinda process... 'transportation'.

Likewise, we gotta word for the general kinda process used in society's decision making... 'politics'. Although in this particular case, the end result might be pretty much the same... there still is a difference in how things get done... top-down -vs- bottom-up.

One might think that discussing, and actually doing, real world politics (instead of always pretending we're just about to start discussing the "real issues") would be of interest to... maybe Politards. But, naw...

To get back into Red Diamond mode again... TYVM, I think this is just great !!!1!. In fact, as far as I'm concerned this thread has already been a complete success.

This is actually a much better way to see how this kinda idea might work... it's always better to experiment small scale DYI style, learn, and then build on that experience. Process itself is a process.

And once again, thanks for saving Baja Politards !!!1!. IMO, for Baja Politards to really work, and be long term stable, regular volunteer mods were always a must.

I was thinking... Bigdaddydvo was duly elected King of the Politics Forum, and wears the royal purple (SN). That was long before Politardia was partitioned into the Alta and the Baja. So sure, a case could be made that Bigdaddydvo is now King of both Alta Politardia and Baja Politardia, in a personal union.

But several arguments seem persuasive that Bigdaddydvo, while still at least nominally King of Alta Politardia, has no claim on the throne here in Baja Politardia.

1. Bigdaddydvo's official under-title "King of the Politics Forum" is particular only to Alta Politardia.
2. Bigdaddydvo had, for all intents, abandoned all of Politardia well before the partition, leaving the throne effectively empty at that time.
3. What I find most persuasive... Bigdaddydvo has no legitimate claim to the throne here in Baja Politardia, as he never acted to possess it. He has never made a single post in PU.

So... if not Bigdaddydvo, who does the title revert to? Well, that would be our beloved King Emeritus pvn, the last true King of all the Politards.

Zero level is your base insulter. Rating threads, that's first level. Standard insults (idiot) is 2nd level. Criticism is 3rth. Fourth level and higher is real judgement. That requires certain authority. So being judge worthy is higher than being a critic. Let the free market will of the forum figure it out.

Just to be clear, a moderator is not a judge, though a judge could be a moderator.

How is there even any debate? Chimpstare is the final arbiter.
