Meh. Virtue signaling, imo. Nobody cares that you followed a law. Also, wanted to say the words "virtue signaling" one time, because it's just so damn popular to say "virtue signaling".

When did that become a thing?

(I moved this post from the Trump thread. The "also" below is out of context now. Chow meow? --wn)

Also, here's a weird thing: wil has bragged about his wealth plenty of times, and it's not based on him and his wife having decent salaries, though they do. He invested quite a bit back when the market got really bullish, at a sweet spot, right after the financial crisis. He's shared this numerous times. But now, it seems due to some neurotic compulsion he wants to pretend that Real Deal Capitalism isn't a thing.

Clearly everything is not as he claims, or he wouldn't be living in a very poor part of a pretty rough city.

I do not make it a habit of lying. Propose a bet. Escrow required.

Philadelphia is a very nice city, it is just highly segregated.

I've told you before, you're so dishonest in some of your other claims that I would never trust any "evidence" you might produce, as I wouldn't put it past you to use someone else's documents.

Of course you'd come up with an excuse, because you are a straight up pussy and know for a fact that you would lose. Not only can I prove it all beyond a shadow of a doubt, I could have actual 2+2ers come to my house and verify it.

You're the worst kind of trash on 2+2. Dishonest and a coward. Every word out of your mouth is a joke and every time we have a chance to prove it you slink away like the scared child you are.

Every single person here knows you would never dare enter the bet. We've seen your history of entering wagers and your blatant angle-shooting and scumminess, and your actual pride in acting in that manner.

Totally disgusting.

Lol @ ME being dishonest. Anyone here can ship me 50k and I would never touch a cent of it. My reputation and the way I carry myself actually means something to me. Apparently it means nothing to you, ****ing dirtbag.

Your constant blend of dishonesty and crass stupidity achieves the opposite effect to that desired.

Instead of achieving the boost to your self-esteem that you clearly come here for, your contemptibly moronic and pig-ignorant posts invariably result in numerous people laughing at you, leading to even more anger and frustration on your part.

Rinse, repeat.

You are a dirtbag supported by dirtbags. I leave it to the judgment of people in this forum who is telling the truth.

Lol @ you being more trustworthy than me. Bahaha I would trust you with anything, you ****ing loser.

The hilarious yet sad, yet hilarious, part is he would totally put more people on ignore if Bladesman and I didn't make such a mockery of the whole thing.

And, I've said this before but I really can't get over how bizarre it is he has me on ignore. This forum has a bunch of readers and lurkers and sporadic but there are, what, maybe a dozen and a half regular posters active every day, with a high volume. Ignoring somebody means you're missing out of a huge fraction because not all forums have this same dynamic. I'm assuming wil's intellectual curiosity is > 0 but I guess neurosis trumps that.
07-08-2017 , 09:42 AM
p.s.

Actually it's somewhat horrifying now that I remembered trump won. There have been numerous times wil made a fool of himself by trying to piece together posts I've made yet still replying in classic wil fashion, and I just realized he doesn't care. At all. I usually forget once a day they're all mini-trumps.

Like, for more fingers than I have wil has commented on the content of my posts while having me on ignore, and it's quite obvious he's not peeking, considering he gets so many details wildly incorrect. One would think some normal and real human emotion would prevent such ludicrous behavior, but he seems to revel in it.

I think very few people really have others on ignore. You must get under his skin so badly that he has to pretend he's not reading your posts. lolwil as always

Are you referring to 5ive? Lol, I assure you, if that's who you are talking about (because he and bladesman are the only two people on 2+2 I have on ignore), most definitely have him on ignore.

Nothing he has ever said was of any importance that I know about. You also.

How could I miss this classic lolwil claim from the brat who squirmed and wriggled, lied and tried to cheat his way out of paying LG in the infamous wages bet?

LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL deep breath LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLOLwilch

No reply yet from wilch on his moral high horse, even though he's online? LOLLLLLLLLLLWILCH

It's almost as if he forgets that his moronic posts are here for people to find and repost.

MODs can we exhile this instigator back to P. His negativity and hatred have no business in this forum. He is clearly anti American and bigoted. I think I speak for the majority of folks on here who are tired of wading through this crap every day.

Thanks for posting, good read. I thought the brief history of Bed-Stuy was interesting:

Quote:
As Woodsworth wrote in Battle for Bed-Stuy, “subsequent assessments by private lenders reinforced the notion that Central Brooklyn, with its expanding black population, should be quarantined. As a result, few prospective homebuyers in the area, black or white, could access federally guaranteed mortgages; existing homeowners, foreseeing plummeting property values, sold out while they could.”

The HOLC’s designation ensured that banks would not extend their usual loans there—depriving black Americans of the credit lines and capital investment that other communities would use to build wealth, and then look down their noses at black people wondering why they had not done the same.

Not to excuse any of these obviously terrible laws, but since I know you're a frequent poster on the subject of "Asians and Jews rose out of similar circumstances, why can't black people", I would point out two important differences related to that argument as I suspect that's why you posted it:
1. This law was more limited in scope, as it applied only to non-citizens; black people victimized by redlining did not have any relief or benefit as a result of their citizen status
2. As Serwer points out in the Atlantic article re: Jim Crow policies:

Quote:
Black Americans in Bed-Stuy (as elsewhere) organized to fight these policies, but as Woodsworth described, fighting segregation in the North could be as daunting as fighting it in the South: “The problem for New York activists was that segregation was illegal, even if it persisted on the ground. They could not hope to deal a fatal blow to the Jim Crow system, since the Jim Crow system did not officially exist.”
This, on the other hand, was a law, official in nature and capable of being attacked through official channels, ultimately being struck down by courts in the 50s.

Didn't you vote for 'this crap' to be allowed?
