So c'mon....................why are there so many murders in inner cities and particularly the south side of Chicago?

I will concede the point you are making 100%, strict gun laws in Chicago means more murders. Ok you win...

More than 80 percent of the city’s homicides took place last year in only about half of Chicago’s 23 police districts, largely on the city’s South and West Sides. The police district that includes parts of the business district downtown reported no killings at all. And while at least one police district on the city’s northern edge saw a significant increase in the rate of killings, the total number there still was dwarfed by deaths in districts on the other sides of town, and particularly in certain neighborhoods.

Now...Chicago has a north side and south side...and those strict gun control laws cover the ENTIRE city...

So why is it that 80% of the cities' homicides took place in 23 police districts LARGELY on the south side and west side?

I mean, if strict gun control laws cause murders to skyrocket why isn't it more evenly distributed between the north and south side?

Well since I don't know the difference between south and north Chicago, my last guess is that the south side has older buildings with lead paint.

Again, I don't know the first thing about Chicago geography, so if you're really an expert Silver_tosser, please, enlighten us. You pretended you wanted to talk about this in so many other threads, but now that this thread exists you clam up about it, which proves you're just concern trolling and don't really care.

You know what else is unevenly distributed through the city? Poverty. I'm guessing those maps line up pretty tightly.

Here's what you should do. Start here with some, you know, actual crime statistics broken down by neighborhood. Then do some additional research to determine all the important demographic factors for each neighborhood - things like income, education, school quality, etc. Once you have a solid grasp on factors that are highly correlated with the violence, you can start thinking about what's "causing" it and how to fix it. Let us know what your research shows.

He wants people to say it's because of all the black people, like it's SOOO TOTALLY OBVIOUS GUYS!

It's almost certainly linked to poverty and few opportunities for minorities, who end up joining gangs, get killed/jailed, continue the cycle of poverty/violence, ad nauseum..

butnahhh it's totally because minorities are violent by nature.

Who knew that indirect, or what's that recent popular word, implied racism is still racism. Not a good look.

Of course the reference was about murder rates because the word murder was in the title of the thread, duh. I mean plausible deniability is expected when this implication is inevitabley noted.

The dumb sheep won't even notice they being all racist upon, while the shifty smart shepperds won't ban somebody for arguing murder rates. Or will they?

Maybe or maybe not.
