Thanks for the link. I haven't read that thread. I saw it pop up the other day.

I thought we'd decided that this was (mostly) the point of this place (last paragraph). Not that it's a very good point. There seems to be some demand for it though. If you think the forum would be better off closed that's an argument I can understand, but it's one you should probably make in ATF or to Mat. I have a sort of irrational attachment to this place, it's surely a character flaw but what can I do?

I was mostly ribbing you irt the convo we had a little while back about PU being good for culture war stuff. This is definitely the place to be for apolitical, low info, naked tribalist types. Since they're enjoying something of an awakening or movement in America at the moment, probably best they have their own safe space to spew in, separate from the area where actual adults have real conversations.

that wouldn't happen, so not really worth thinking about. if it is shut down, the politics mods might like to reconsider some exiles, but that would be up to them.

also, if shut down, seeing additional mods added to p would probably be a good idea.

So yeah, that kind of conversation, with conservatives even, can and does happen in the main forum. Somehow there's an even bigger focus on substance than, say, that new project veritas thread here.

So again, what's the point of this place?

I'm not going over there, but I am telling you that I got temp banned (that's what leads to permas) for making allegedly systemically (non secret heart) racist arguments.

Conservatives are run off from over there. Just because some conservatives tolerate it and play within the grossly biased rules, does not mean that the place is conducive to good conversation. I am happy to share the details if anyone is interested.

In my view, its bad for 2+2 to have forums criticising the moderation of other forums.

If posters have an issue and don't feel they can keep it to the mod's own forum then ATF is the right place.
