But to point to the rallies as proof of the left being in good shape seems wrong. Trump is clearly polarizing and this is leading to people who already were engaged to become more engaged. This doesn't necessarily have to translate into people who were disengaged to start caring.
I think a lot of ppl stayed home bc all of the projections and media reports made it seem like hillary was a lock. that was combined with the increased barriers for voting that some ppl did not feel like putting forth the effort to overcome.
in my case, at least, that is what happened. in ohio, I was not eligible to vote bc I had not voted for over 10 years. I was registered, but that was in my home district when I was 18. so I would have had to re-register to vote. I couldnt even drive over to my old district and vote.
so, like, hilary was gonna win ldo, so Im not gonna miss work time and beer time and nba time and drive a bunch of miles.
you better believe I wont make that mistake again. and I think a ton of ppl will go the extra mile to fix this problem. I dont know if its gonna be enough tho.
as for your view of it, I think there is certainly a possibility that you are correct and I am overstating the amount of ppl that will try to make a difference. and who the hell knows if they will give a shz in 4 years too. but it seems to me, with the protests, and the aclu donations, and my situation, and the circumstances of other ppl I have spoken with, there is a good chance that ppl may do the work to stop this.
