What is it in this article that you want me to respond to?

these FoldN posts all read like a college freshman trying to make his essay meet a length requirement.

It's all just derp. None of it matters. Foldn is going into meltdown because... some women wore some pink knitted hats.

Here's an article about the pink knitted hats. It's headed by a photo of British-Danish comedy panel-show host Sandi Toksvig wearing one in London. Not Lenin, not Charles Manson, not Osama bin Laden. Sandi flipping Toksvig. And that's why Foldn is (metaphorically, I hope) stocking up on canned food and bottled water and assault weapons.

What the **** are you talking about? Common and sincere != reasonable and nothing in my post agrees that "the world is about to end" because people post dumb things on YouTube.

Dave Rubin would absolutely be welcome on the left if he, you know, developed actual liberal-left views.

As you idiots constantly try to gotcha libtards with, Robert Byrd was in the ****ing Klan.

So clearly the issue isn't that we believe the deplorables cannot ever be redeemed, but the ask from FoldN here appears to be he wants liberals and leftists to agree with his bull**** crankish hard right views and tell them it's OK. And it's not. FoldN, that's not even a dispute, even you know that your actual beliefs are reprehensible, that's why you lie about them constantly and rely on the disingenuous argument-by-proxy trick to try to get headpats from your ****ing betters.

****ing Atlas Shrugged get the **** out of here.
07-21-2017 , 06:34 PM
foldn, I don't choose you to be in charge of social justice or movements. Nothing personal.

I'm going to try this ONE time to explain it to you.

An apt quote from a movie on your attempted judo flip here:

Quote:
Racism describes a system of disadvantage based on race. Black people can’t be racist since they don’t benefit from such a system.
Conservatives don't understand this, so they routinely switch "white" for "black" and vice versa in hypotheticals while truly honestly seeing no difference between the original and updated examples.

The movie, if you're curious, was (put in spoilers because this will probably trigger the **** out of you)...

Spoiler:

Foldn: i'm drunk on my wife's birthday and about to put the steak kebabs on, but we've talked about evergreen before. Also I think you missed a post of mine that today that was on the subject. Just letting you know so you can find it if you want.

I mean he is clearly a right wing libertarian and that worldview is opposed to ours, so I don't know what that means.

Politics is about what you want the world to look like, people have sincere disagreements about that. Rubin's preferred state of things is not mine, so yes, he fails the "purity test" of not being liberal. Do you want me to call you a leftist? I don't want to be called a conservative. Reasonable people can differ about where people's views fall but I think there should be a consensus is that it's not purely a matter of self-identification. (Though I do find it interesting that nobody on the left tries this ****, we're never telling people that oh yeah check out this great right wing writer Matt Taibbi and ****, nobody who is sincerely leftist tries to claim that they are even as far right as liberal)

This ****ing dip**** whines about identity politics and tries this ****.

Jethro, you leave the fancy talking to them ed-u-cated city boys, yahear?

Keep reading them pacing and leading books, little man, but from over here it don't seem to be working. Not a single ****ing person is getting snowed by your bull****, and all you ****ing do is cry. Just like Daddy.

You're not educated enough to have an opinion worth considering.

Also before you tried to run your mouth about GamerGate's second favorite gay guy being just totally the most liberal guy you maybe shouldn't have said that y'all thought David ****ing Brooks was a liberal.

Because the implication there as we go is that what, 80% of the country is left wing? Full communism here we come, baby.

For me, the real interesting facet of this story is just how ****ing cowardly the authorities are, sending in full-on riot squads and installing metal detectors after someone gets hit with silly string. I get that college students are going to do stupid ****, but can the adults in the room please use some common sense and realize that bunch of crunchy granola college kids aren't exactly the Watts Riots.

This is better?

11 British police officers vs. 1 guy with a knife.

Of course we do recall the Antifa Professor with the bikelock, yes?

Fold'n clearly believes...

I don't think Foldn should be used as a case study for anything; the BruceZ fiasco distorted reality far too much.

I get that one version didn't happen. And I get that neither upsets me. And I get that if a professor then went to the press about how awful it was to change it one year that that would come across as petty and stupid.

I get that this might look silly to an American right-winger, wondering why the officers haven't just gunned him down, but I'd guess that the outcome of this video was likely to be that nobody got seriously hurt. So yeah, better.

That isn't really what happened. He sent an email to faculty and staff disagreeing with the changed Day of Absence. The email was later published in the campus newspaper. Then there were student protests against him. Then he went to the press (or press went to him, who knows).

It's always fun when a guy rants against "identity politics" for page after page and then is genuinely stunned that you aren't obligated to agree with someone who is gay/black/whatever.

Okay, that's not what I thought the NYT article was saying, but fair enough.

If you really want to understand Rubin's positions, here you go:

Let's not strawman, shall we.

And here's how the Regressives left hm:
