related note - the OPs trolling question seems to me to be aimed at the wrong generation. I'm in my 40s and I'm know that FDR is considered great by many but it would appear to me that Kennedy worship is really something that was practiced more by previous generations.

The majority of people I know are liberals/democrats... I've discussed politics with many people over the years and never once did a conversation evolve into discussion about any of the Kennedys. You might as well start ranting about Woodstock.

I'm not aware of anyone who doesn't think that the treatment of Asian Americans during the war was anything but a dark spot on our nation's history.

Finally - speaking for myself, I don't have an issue praising people for good things while being critical of bad things they did. While most don't say it, Hitler no doubt was very good at a lot of things. But his sins were so horrific that most aren't really interested in having a discussion about things he did well. That being said, perhaps FDR's positive accomplishments were so good that they overshadow the bad he did, even though it was really bad?

All this is really moot since I suspect you're posting your trolling to a group of people who probably don't think all that much about FDR.

It wasn't that outrageous a thing to do in the 1940's, it would never be tolerated today. Many people idolize Caesar even though he had people crucified, burned alive and thrown off cliffs for things like stealing or assault. He also enslaved many people. In those times it was standard to do that, doing that today he would be known as pure evil.

ooo boy someone is upset with America. The truth is that slavery and other forms of discrimination have existed all over the world, and it ought to be denounced where ever it took and is taking place, not just in the USA.

FDR did not lock up Asians in concentration camps. During WW2, the USA had an issue with folks with Japanese heritage as well as folks with German heritage, so the USA did send folks of German and Japanese heritage to "internment" camps. Its tough to try and put ourself in the position FDR was in back in 42, during the aftermath of the pearl harbor attack.

What counts is that the good guys won WW2, thank God FDR was in office, he was said to be a tremendous leader by members of the Tuskegee Airforce During WW2. Tuskegee airmen talked about how FDR did great things for African Americans.

I'm just disappointed FDR didn't lock up the ACists.
