Well, just because there is a cloud of confusion, stench of opt-outs, and general malaise regarding the renaming of Version 1 of the Bad Poster Thread... doesn't mean that that Version 2 of the Bad Poster Thread (currently entitled "Re: You are subscribed to this thread Other than ikestoys ~ Who are the Bad Politards Posters (v2)?") can't just go ahead and have one.

So, my fellow Politards... shall the 'Bad Poster Thread (v2)' be re-titled with one of the 'colorful' folk in this poll ??

Rules: Notice, this poll has absolutely no connection with Version 1 of the Bad Poster Thread, currently entitled "Re: Other than [TBD: June 1st, 2015] , Who are the Bad Politics/PU Posters?". Quorum is 20 voters. No opt-outs... any poster who has ever posted in Baja Politards is eligible as a write in vote. If there is a quorum, and no majority, a run-off tournament will be held (not stacked against us 'colorful' folk). He's the reigning Administrator of Odiousness, emblematic of the most odious active Politard. The Administrator of Odiousness's SN is always considered dis-honorarily red. Likewise, the long departed TomVeil & BruceZ will be forever considered dis-honorably green, as they were odious mods.

Besides, as the incumbent, and the most recent (and only) duly elected Bad Poster Title holder ITF... he deserves a place on the ballot, regardless.

This is one of those 'delete so the forums can run' type of examples.

Why?

The idea to start a new Bad Poster thread on this change of regime was ElliotR's not mine. I simply followed through. Even spanktehbadwookie said it was a cool idea to have multiple Bad Poster threads, and v2 could serve as the main one after 6-1.

I simply picked ikestoys as a default incumbent. He was the proper choice as (a) the deal with thekid345 was void, and at the time he had been officially pardoned, and (b) ikestoys was the next previous, and only duly elected, title holder.

But now v2 has got established enough as a viable thread (almost 100 posts now), and I feel my fellow Politards should have a chance to ratify the default title holder. If pretty much everyone is happy with the status quo and doesn't vote... well that legitimizes the thread title too IMO.

Also, we already have a Bad Posters thread that probably won't be replaced by any threads any one creates. It just seems futile to start more threads on the topic lol.

Well, I can't really argue about that. But, it is a (semi-)serious poll.

It's an attempt to see if there is enough interest to have a tournament for the title holder of the alternate Bad Poster thread, v2. If nobody cares, ikestoys it stays.

The choice of all 'colorful' SN candidates was just me being silly... and poking a little fun at the recent forum dust-up as related to v1. Do you want to 'opt-out'?

Only three days left to vote in only the second Bad Poster Title holder election in Politards history. Let your voice be part of a herd, please vote !!!1!

Let me explain one little thing that might be confusing. The Title holder doesn't have to be from the given 'colorful' list. If you wanna see another, perhaps non-'colorful', poster be the Title holder, just simply vote 'write in', and identify that poster's SN in a post. If there isn't a majority vote, I'll hold a full tournament like last time.

So far spanktehbadwookie is leading with 40% of the vote... but we are far short of reaching the 20 vote quorum (see above). I'm not going to clutter up Baja Politards with another poll until late summer, at the very earliest. Of course, if the quorum isn't met, it 100% legitimates the choice of the last duly elected Bad Poster Title holder. So please vote... unless of course, you are happy with ikestoys as the Title holder (in which case it might make sense not to vote at all).

So far spanktehbadwookie is leading with 33% of the vote. However, unless there is a flurry of voting today, a quorum won't be reached, and ikestoys, the incumbent and the last (and only) duly elected Bad Poster Title holder, will retain that dis-honor.

The contemporaneous Mat's Poll about Mods currently has 51 voters. I set the quorum for this election at about 40% of that... 20 voters. I may have set that a little too high... but I'm not going to pester the mods for a name change without demonstrating actual interest ITF. Also, I'm not going to clog up Baja Politards with re-election threads... at least until late summer, if there is any interest then.



Since at this point an abstention is effectively a vote for ikestoys... I like to think of the poll right now reading 45 implicit, and one explicit, votes for him. That's currently 90% of the vote !!!1!
