Was the annexation of crimea just the beginning? Was the annexation of crimea just the beginning?

I spent alot of time reading about the crisis and begin to think if russia does such an aggressive act without warning than the end of that story hasnt been reached.

I mean the ports and the barracks of russian military cant really be the reason for the annexation, nor the russian majority of the population.

Russia is in fear that it loses its influence over the eastern countrys in europe to the EU.

Now that they did just begin to seize land i dont think they are in any mood to stop that soon, i would bet they take over another big part of the ucraine in a few weeks.

And what country might be next?

It's not the beginning, it's the middle.

Russia scuttled TWO (2) of its own destroyers to capture Ukraine navy.

Russia's position maybe from an opportunity born of the situation. The otherside of the calculation may not be 'next, we can take this', it maybe 'in a few weeks/months/years nobody but the Ukraine, Crimea, and the people at home will remember'.

There are neither beginnings nor endings to the turning of the Wheel of Time. But it was a beginning.
