Alternative media is now state-run propaganda Alternative media is now state-run propaganda

Piece on Politico recently used named sources, not anonymous so you can't refute them, to outline how Trump's handlers treated the orange toddler whenever he had temper tantrums over bad publicity, but also how they fed stories to alternative/alt-right media organizations to get friendly articles printed so that they could preempt his outbursts.

In particular:

Quote:
During another damage-control mission, when former Miss Universe Alicia Machado took to the airwaves to call out Trump for calling her "Miss Piggy" and "Miss Housekeeping," the communications team scrambled to place a story in conservative-friendly outlets like Fox News, the Washington Examiner, the Daily Caller and Breitbart.

A former senior campaign official said Nunberg and his successor, former communications director Jason Miller, were particularly skilled at using alternative media like Breitbart, Washington Examiner, Infowars and the Daily Caller to show Trump positive coverage.
So this is how our president must be handled. Despicable as that may be, this outlines who the state-run propaganda machines are. Breitbart is the easiest to pick out since it's run by a trump mega-donor, and Trump's right hand man ran it in the past. The rest are conspiring with the Trump admin to print fake news and propaganda.

Looking more and more like Russia and North Korea in this country by the day. Sad!

That article seems to describe fairly standard campaign tactics of placing positive (or negative towards your opponent) stories in partisan press outlets. The claim that they were placed in part to assuage Trump's ego is troubling, but the actual placement of stories like that is not unusual at all, certain not a foreboding of Russian-like media censorship.

This is pretty much the only response needed to this ridiculous thread.

You mean like only inviting outlets that print pro-Trump pieces to briefings?

The press which haven't been excluded are defacto state-media. Within that group are defacto state-preferred media.

So we have a basic outline of the scheme:
-The "free" press excluded from state press functions
-The defacto state-media
-The defacto state-preferred media

That kind of silly hyperbole just runs your entire post. It panders to the already converted, but alienates those you wish to reach. What's the point? Who are you trying to convince?

Are you really not that smart, or just being mentally lazy today?

ABC, NBC, CBS, AP, Reuters, etc are not state media. You're letting Trump entirely determine your media diet here.

That's not my media diet, that is a rough take of the defacto media situation or scheme developing in the USA.

Oh look, I was right.

Breitbret is America's first state-run media propaganda machine. Paper trail included.

Bad thread title. DemocracyNow! is certainly "alternative media" but it's the polar opposite of state-run propaganda.

Did you mean alt-right media?

Its just partisanship

yeah breitbart is pravda for trump, congrats for seeing it
then you quote vox a complete liberal rag with no credibility

you are a liberal so you see right wing propaganda easily, but left wing propaganda is a complete blindside to you

i quoted someone who worked at breitbart. Congrats on being so scared of learning that you refuse to click spooky links.

No worse than Vox.

Noodle, you should be embarrassed by every post in this thread.

yes, when i make an assertion and am proven right, i usually feel embarrassed

Given the research which has proven the established media to be disgustingly bias against our president, I don't blame them. If the left is going to fight dirty, it's in their best interest to fight dirty back. The alternative is to allow themselves to be bullied and trampled, which is no real alternative at all.

On the subject of alternative media, does anyone watch The David Pakman Show? I think it's really good!

Developing??

You mean like something that is in its infancy? Like, just now, within the last couple years, there has been this secret thing that has been begining to develope among major media outlets that could, possibly affect/manipulate society in a way that benefits a certain agenda/class/niche?

Conan puttin the funny spin, so, nothin to see here

There has been fake, lying/manipulating bs on the boobtoob and in print since their inception.

Edit: Which speaks to Muricans passiveness, content & level of distraction when it comes to defending the culture that is Murica. As long as we still got our drive ins, microwaves and big screen tvs with the footballs and reality shows, we cool...problem is, key rights etc etc that are slowly being eroded away will not be there to protect the citizens if in fact there is some ultimate sinister plan to control the population. We will have been too busy with afformentioned leisure activities and the sometimes overwhelming responsiblities of life to have recognized the fleecing before its too late.

Keep arguing w each other doe...Death From Within, Divide And Conquer, Cloward-Piven
