Adult Beverages Unchained Adult Beverages Unchained

Now that the election is over, we can unwind, relax, and reflect. I occasionally like to relax by consuming an adult beverage or two. I thought it might be fun to share our favorite adult beverages.

I don't consume that much alcohol but I do keep decent quality in my liquor cabinet. My favorite is Crown Royale Rye and Coca Cola, simple but very good. In the summer months, when the living is easy, I like a strawberry colada every now and then. My wife likes Crown Royale Rye but frequently has an Italian Margarita made with Patron Silver Tequila.

The King of cocktails is a "Negroni". A very simplistic, Italian based cocktail with 3 equal parts of Gin, Campari & sweet vermouth. Definitely not for the faint hearted but for me, it's the go to drink.

Please start a new God's Country trend then. There are good suggestions already offered here for commencing the trend. Thanks.

The only good thing about winter is the winter ales. Can't stand pumpkin beer, but give me some Sierra Nevada Celebration and I'll be content.

Johnny Walker black, straight. Possibly with one ice cube during the summer months. Blue is better but uneconomical at my rate of consumption.

Jim Beam is a close second.

When out for dinner and ordering cocktails, dirty Grey Goose, on the rocks, extra olives.

I always feel stouts and porters are more appropriate for the Christmas season.

Goose Island Winter Ale.

Had a couple of Abita Purple Hazes last night, a beer which is an unfortunate hard-find here in NY.

A good Bloody Mary always hits the spot.

Bloody Mary's are such great drinks, but the variance is so wide in personal preference and execution it often leads to disappointment. When that correct mix of spice, citrus, tomato flavor and celery come together it is magical.

Alcohol should be illegal until they stop the police in helicopters burning the cali leaves
05-10-2017 , 01:46 PM
^^^Agreed. Alcohol is way worse than cannabis, yet the powers that be would lose too much money. It's really a shame they are afraid of a plant that nobody has ever O.D'd on. But I could go buy as much alcohol as I have money today, and that is A. O. K. Stupid gubment.
