Not sure what that has do with locking away an unstable dangerous man for an open and shut firearms violation.

Will the sentencing be on Youtoobz?

Man, I'm bad at jokes.

LirvA, you realize I take pictures of my EBT card in places, even after getting a job, but don't get benefits, right? They don't make you send the card back in when you're out of the program.

Funny thing, after they arrested Kokesh, I called that police department and told them I saw a man with a gun in the same square they arrested Kokesh. I told them it was some guy in a blue suit with a shiny badge getting out of a black and white car. The woman said it was probably an officer, and I said "well having guns is illegal, isn't it?" She hung up on me.

Crazy world we live in. A guy who never harmed anyone gets locked in a cage for standing up for his rights, and goons that go around assaulting and robbing people on a daily basis get the go ahead.

Standard.

U.S. Attorney Ronald C. Machen said in a statement Wednesday that the job of law enforcement authorities is “hard enough without irresponsible people intentionally coming into the District of Columbia to brandish a loaded shotgun.”

“As today’s plea demonstrates, there are consequences for anyone who flagrantly abuses our city’s firearms and drug laws,” Machen said.
Nominated by Barack Obama, 2009. Thanks Lirva for helping make this happen with your vote.

Well, the people decided that police officers are allowed to carry guns in the district. The police assessed there was no illegal activity

Kokesh was clearly violating the law.

Hope this helps clarify your confusion.

LetsGambool, I noticed you have a similiar dynamic with JiggsCasey as you do me. Can you tell me why you are naturally gravitated to attack people with dissenting views? As an aside, is your favorite Kubrick film 2001: A Space Oddyssey, and is your favorite part the one with the pack of monkeys?

Have you groomed your leader lately?

Please tell me how a guy who was in war and carried a firearm to protect his life is more dangerous to the general public than a gang of hoodlums who have subjective authority to assault and kidnap people based on arbitrary rules they didn't consent to.

So it's between a guy that went somewhere else and had the subjective authority to assault and kidnap people based on arbitrary rules they didn't consent to and the people that do that here? Classic coin flip IMO.
11-06-2013 , 11:12 PM
Well, to be fair, a lot of cops were also in the military.

Well, from an ACist perspective, the "gang of hoodlums" have as much "right" to act as dispute mediators as Kokesh does. Who are you to tell me that my friends and I can't carry guns and act as organized peacekeepers?

And for that matter, what right did Kokesh have to assault and kidnap people when he was an armed hoodlum in Iraq? The Iraqis had a jillion times less consent to his presence than the people of DC have to the city cops.

Ummmmm

I wrote this about the guy who once worked for a Russian propaganda arm, pulled a stupid stunt, talked for weeks about how imperative it was to fight the system at trial...then pled out to save his ass. Nothing about you.

Problem wasn't me dude, and you are more intolerant of dissenting political viewpoints than almost anyone on this forum.

I admit I have a low tolerance for poorly thought out nonsense and a complete aversion to facts coming from the same posters.

Bottom line is that. Kokesh pulled a dumb stunt with zero purpose, followed it up doing a couple of other stupid things, and is going to get time served and probation or a short jail sentence. He's not special, this barely registers on the injustice scale, and your argument about the cop carries no resonance with anyone who is a functioning adult. Grow up.

Calling me a statist using your definition of statist isn't an insult and puts me in the company of 99% of America.
11-07-2013 , 12:22 AM
99% is a very low estimate.

And yet weirdly, the US Marines aren't "statists" in LirvA-land.

Here's my problem with you people. Talking to you people makes me want to do bad things to you people. So I'm pretty much done talking to you people right now, less I give in to my baser instincts.
