Instead of a quarterly analysis, I decided to just do all of 2014. Methodology and caveats are described in the
original quarterly thread. Basically all 2014 posts for both forums are scraped into my own database for analysis. In this case, quotes, spoilers, and all html tags are stripped out of the message, leaving only the original content. This is necessary for accuracy in words-per-post calculations and for matching queries (e.g., who has the most posts matching "ethnic cleansing" - see below for answer!).
Notes:
1: there may be some discrepancies in post counts - some metrics exclude posts that contain no actual content (usually these posts contains only images).
2: no pretty charts this time - deal with it.
3: probably no more quarterly threads, maybe another summary at the end of '15 if I'm still around.

As we've seen before, the post distribution was incredibly top-heavy. Out of 1428 total posters (across both forums), 365 have only 1 post. More than 60% (861) have 10 or fewer posts. Only 223 posters have 100 or more posts. The top 1% of posters (14) have a combined 49523 posts, which is about 31% of the total post volume for the year.

V. Concentration
I was interested in seeing who concentrates their focus narrowly on a few threads vs. those who spread their participation more widely. I created a concentration metric which results in a score between 0 (unconcentrated - every post is in a different thread) and 1 (perfectly concentrated - all posts are in one thread). For example, Gamblor had 1724 posts and posted in 25 different threads. This works out to a score of .9588, which is the highest concentration of any high-volume (>1000 combined posts) poster. This metric tracks pretty well with a simpler posts/thread metric. Three posters managed to achieve a perfect score by concentrating all their posts into a single thread: Yuv (Israel Palestine), midas (Mike Brown), and Brown Gord (Scottish Independence).
