I just went down a page of tournaments and analyzed the structures. To make sure I'm comparting apples to apples, they were all $5.50 tournaments. I'm looking for deepstacked tournaments, and I don't care how long they run. I got a decent cash in a Big Ten yesterday after playing for five hours and 42 minutes.
I used the following metrics to compare the tournaments:
Number of starting chips
Minutes per blind level
Total of blinds and antes in level 5.
Total of blinds and antes in level 10.
How long late registration is open.
After going down the page, I found four different structures, but then I noticed something odd. One of the Big Ten tournaments was in a structure category by itself. Four of the five Big Ten tournaments had 5,000 starting chips, the fifth showed 2,500 starting chips. Is this a mistake?
My assumption was that anything with the label Big Ten would have the same structure. When I read "Big Ten" I think "deepstack," If that's not always true, I would like to know.
