Man, what a night. Finally get some luck, and of course it has to come against a poster in this thread.

@ Boney

Yeah, not a disaster or anything though. Your hindsight logic is good, so don't sweat it.

I'm 4/7 at the FT of the $55 buy-in thinger presently!

Nice, nice, running good tonight sir.

Yeah that's ok I'm not sweating it, I'm pretty short stacked with 10K, but playing on WPN is forcing me to improve quickly. That's a really good thing. funny thing is that if I run deep I still have homework to do tonight, so I'm gonna be up really late if that's the case. Oh well I'll take it for the money lol.

Railing you now, but obv. focused on my game.

Eh, just lost a small pot but I'm not confident that I made a good fold at all so I'll post here.

Folds around to me on the button. I minraise (blinds are 250/500) with A9hh

BB calls, has about 11K in chips, I cover with 18K.

Flop comes 89cx. (I think it was a 2, may have been a 3) I bet half pot, he shoves for 12K (10.75K more, so it's 11K to win 17K.) I tank fold.

I folded because I have almost no stats on the guy (his VPIP was 10, but only over 10 hands) and I figure I can find a better spot. A lot of better pairs, and two pairs fit his range, and I can't figure out what he's shoving that's a lot worse than mine except K9. If he's doing it with overs I'm good, but I don't have enough history to know if he would. It's possible he has a straight flush draw, where I'd have the right odds, but don't want to flip most of my stack when I think I have an edge over a lot of the table.

HAHA Just realized I hope these guys aren't sitting here watching me talk about my play. I'm going to stop posting after that one... interesting spot to think about though, IMO.

If it wasn't for stupid luck, I'd cash in every one of these things. Ugh.
09-30-2013 , 11:26 PM
And because I'm a glutton for punishment, I'm back in. Playing with scotty now it would seem.

I think you have to snap call here unless you're against a known nit. Lot of top pairs and draws in his range you're way ahead of.

Fizzled out of that FT in 7th place

Had a rough seat draw with riverme123 on my direct left, he ended up busting me when I open shipped 50kish @ 3500/7000 from the sb with A7s and he woke up with 99
09-30-2013 , 11:47 PM
I def. appreciate the input, but I didn't know he was a nit, cuz I only had 10 hands on him, he easily could have been card dead. After getting 50, He's 20/8. But you're probably right because now I'm near the bubble and doing that thing where I'm just tryinna sneak my way in before trying to rebuild my stack... lol.

Usually it's the other way around, I push people around at the bubble.

I mean maybe he has J9, Q9, K9, but I don't know.

You think that was bad - you got a teed off 15k stack a few seats from you in the $1k GTD.

Nice pickup on the AK vs K4, btw.

I wasn't saying he was a nit, I don't even know who hand was against. I'm saying I think you need to call here unless YOU know the dude's a nit.
09-30-2013 , 11:52 PM
HAHAHA I had AA and there was 82 left. I was gonna time bank until someone busted but somebody busted a second later so I'm ITM now. Time to rebuild or go bust trying.

True true, I guess it was nitty of me to fold. I just thought that there's no way I'm a big favorite there except against those hands and overcards...

He could just have a flush or straight draw but I figure his bluffs have decent equity. I really need to get a program to calculate this stuff for me so I can make these decisions without having to estimate.

I bubbled the 12.5k like a boss lol... finished 83rd on a flip when 81 cashed. Even used my whole timebank to no avail
09-30-2013 , 11:58 PM
Yep, hopefully I run good now and I can afford to buy it with the winnings from this. LOL.

Same thing almost happened to me. I had AK, but when I realized there was no way 4 people would bust in the minute I just shoved.

Luckily no callers, and I didn't have to flip.

48k in the 12.5gtd though

Just busted in 62nd, guy witha button PFR of like 40 rasies 4x from button to my SB, I have A9dd, I shove 14BB he calls with A10 I bust. Happy with how I played it, since I'm confident he was gonna snap with a lot of worse hands. Plus a little boost from going out after a jump earned me a few more dollars. GL everyone whos still in.
