lol, got shafted on those queens.
09-28-2013 , 04:53 AM
I was rooting for you, coulda been a worse runout though
09-28-2013 , 04:55 AM
HOLY POOP
09-28-2013 , 04:55 AM
I know I know, I just went AI for fold equity sorry man
09-28-2013 , 04:57 AM
glad you took that overbetting douche pranesh out though.
09-28-2013 , 04:58 AM
that's one good thing about playing super LAG and getting lucky. Get a good hand right afterwards and you get called down real light. He had AQ that time, but I'm willing to bet he's calling Ax and a maybe K10+
09-28-2013 , 05:00 AM
he's a huge fish
09-28-2013 , 05:03 AM
I've seen him around, only starting using a HUD this week so don't have much on him.

Hell the HUD was so confusing to me up until the last couple days, now I'm seeing just how useful it really is. I've been making plays on people that I never would have, based on their C-bet and how loose/tight they are preflop.

I can just feel my winrate increasing.
09-28-2013 , 05:04 AM
It was so obvious he just had aces or kings there.

shove>shove>min-bet?
09-28-2013 , 05:05 AM
What are you using, Boney?
09-28-2013 , 05:06 AM
I'm using HM for now, on a trial... a bit confused about certain aspects of it...

Do you guys think PokerTracker is better? I'm eventually gonna buy one, just tryinna figure out which is better.
09-28-2013 , 05:10 AM
I use poker tracker, and then tried HM after I bought PT4... I felt kinda like HM might be better, but it was akin to being a PC user thinking about switching to MAC. Yeah, it might be a better product, but I've already invested all of my time learning the possibly inferior product.

I really hop PT$ hurries up with the update for preferred seating. I want to go back to my custom setup.

Actually started using WPN as a testing ground to improve my poker skills/start using HUDs, etc.

I'm a huge fish in these online cash games, but I've always been decent at tournaments. I figured if I play online I can learn a bit more cuz the players are tougher and I get to play more volume at lower stakes. Didn't think I'd actually be winning, apparently either I run great or I'm a pretty decent tournament player.

It's much easier to learn when the money isn't huge to your bankroll, you know.

Sorry brother no soft playing around here
09-28-2013 , 05:15 AM
Ha we all made it to the FT good luck guys!
09-28-2013 , 05:25 AM
I think the whiskey made that decision for me lol
09-28-2013 , 05:35 AM
Ha, NP...

Always hate KQ vs. AJ

At least I made two final table tonight. Actually turned a small profit today.
09-28-2013 , 05:37 AM
Yeah taking a few more moments to think about it, it was probably the wrong decision. Can't be results oriented, but obviously I like the result.

EDIT - was thinking about how often I was flipping and in 60/40s vs how often you were gonna dominate me. Really only AK, AQ, AA, KK, QQ dominated me, so I called. Shoulda been thinking about ICM, which is why I think I made the wrong decision. Then again I already had a a good portion of your stack in the middle... don't remember exact stack sizes but maybe 1/5th.
09-28-2013 , 05:40 AM
I would have folded there. UTG shove from a self-admitted nit?

But then again, I'm a nit.
09-28-2013 , 05:42 AM
Right, I play pretty LAG, but in order to play that way, you have to play smart. I edited my post (whiskey making me leave out details) but I think I made the wrong move and got lucky that I was basically flipping.
09-28-2013 , 05:48 AM
I don't think I'm good enough to play LAG. I get myself in spots where I have no idea where I'm at, and next thing you know, I have no stack.

I just try to be profitable, and these low-mid buy-in tournaments, you really don't have to be too fancy. I play tight, look for spots, and try not to be TOO predictable.
09-28-2013 , 06:13 AM
I had A10cc when you had 55, scotty. The other time I bluffed you I had k10 (when you said you had AK)
09-28-2013 , 06:14 AM
For sure, TAG is profitable.

Funnily enough, you're the first person my HUD labels as TAG.

BTW Scotty, if you see this, tell Duck I did take that shot when I busted. I'll see you guys in slightly higher buy ins when I'm not drinking

I don't understand his call with 6J except that he was having fun.

Gonna call it a night
09-28-2013 , 06:23 AM
Actually, in higher stakes, LAG is really hard to make profitable until you get the skills necessary to play great post flop.

I'm not there yet, just trying to learn it b/c I think it's the most profitable way to play in good structure tournaments. I figure if I can learn it well... I'll make money later.

For now it's all about learning for me... I think I have a decent sense of tournament play, but recognize it's all about working on your game. I'm sure TAG is always gonna be profitable at low stakes.

Looking at the long term, I want to learn how to beat the higher stakes... I have a long ways to go but I'm going to keep practicing this style... because otherwise I'll never be a long term winner at bigger stakes.

I'll see you guys on the felt - hopefully tomorrow and Sunday we'll all do well. I probably won't play much on WPN for now cuz I'm pretty pissed at their server issues... once they fix that I'll grind more here.

If they don't fix it within a week I might withdraw all my money, but based on WTD's presence here, I'll give them at least one more week before I bail.

I play pretty TAG in higher buy ins, but that's relative to my LAG style...
