I think what kind of gets lost here by most players is that these poker companies are not cash cows. It cost alot of money to take and US deposits and withdrawls. Marketing expenses are huge. They dumped a ton of money into the site for rake races proir to The Beast. Do other promotions with prizes, have overlay ect. ect.

So its not like this is some greedy company that is too cheap to fix stuff. Its probably just not feasible or financially responsible to higher a huge team of software developed to possible relocate and get this project done in a few months.

Hopefully it comes soon cause from what I've heard this has been being worked on for a while now but I'd be shocked if this happened in the next couple months.

Finally someone who speaks my mind!

Nice looking update, but as I have stated many times before, please add green clubs. Also, haven't we been hearing about this update for at least six months now?

If the table is full you can't just pick any seat... it is a big deal because if you are playing multiple tables it is much much easier to look at the same seat for each table

Is it too much to ask for a basic standard feature that any poker site should have?

It's kind of a big deal. Firstly because it's a pretty common feature that WPN is lacking. But secondly, things like PT4 and HEM place the stats at the seat you initially take. Thus if you use the "seat me here" feature, the stats remain wherever they were first placed, so not next to the correct players. With HEM you can adjust with arrows easily, but don't think that exists for PT4.

Can PT4 remedy this? They have a preferred seat option for other sites.

Which works in conjunction with the preferred seating option on those sites I believe. So WPN's lack of that option means that it won't work on PT4 either.

Please do not misunderstand what we’re doing here. We had inherited a lot of work when we first got here and we’ve been working tirelessly for 2 years to improve this software. We should have made this software change 2 years ago, the problem was, our development team wasn’t ready for it. We kept putting it off while they were hiring new people to be able to make this change. Finally, we were ready to do it and thats why we’re doing it. We’re not simply throwing lipstick on a pig here, this is a whole new technology and a whole new codebase. The intention of this is to tremendously speed up new software development capabilities, because we’re working with a new code base and not a terrible legacy system. Yeah, we want it faster. Yeah, we want Preferred Seating and Proper Table Notification/Time Bank, but the redesign took precedence because we could get everything else sooner.

Ok. So everyone has said this is a reality. 1.) how do we know if this is coming soon or just a BS pic? 2.) if real, when is this update coming?

Probably not cause I'd just ask around first and it would ruin the spirit of a friendly bet.

I guess when it happens it happens.

If this is surely going to be the new software AND a Mac version becomes available, I can't see any reason NOT to move my play over to WPN.

That can't be a real picture. Surely WPN wouldn't be stupid enough to just take random aspects of FTP and PS then slap them together like Frankenstein's monster.

I mean... I don't even

I love the fast cash outs but the rake is way too high with BBJ/beast that the fast cash outs lose their appeal because they are the only good thing about WPN. Until they update their software and get rid of BBJ I will continue to play elsewhere.

The Beast actually pays out many players more than what they pay into it. We did analysis on this a few months ago, and each player we looked at (note: we concentrated on regulars, grinders, the usual people you would expect to come across on 2+2) received more back than they paid in. If you take a close look at what you've paid and what you've got back from The Beast, you may be surprised.

The BBJ is another story obviously, but I think the bad rep The Beast has with many on 2+2 is undeserved.

Playing with BBJ and beast in small pots at 25/50 or 10/25 cents they will take literally half the pot at times. BBJ is a rip off and a half. People say oh just start no-BBJ tables. I've tried and no one joins them probably in large part because WPN always tries to put non BBJ tables at the bottom of the list in the lobby so people won't see them and will play in BBJ tables instead. So it doesn't matter if the beast is paying out more than people are paying in when WPN is raping everybody in rake with the BBJ. Talking with other poker players I've realized that the BBJ is what is keeping a large number of players away.

That is a bit misleading though isn't it? Did you only look at those that place in the top 147 (or whatever the prize cut-off was)? If so, then of course everyone you looked at received more than they paid in. The other players placing out of the money did not receive more than they paid in, ldo. The current leader board shows 1000 players and something like the top 147 getting a prize of some sort. 147 is not *most* of 1000. Invalid population sampling for your study, IMO.

Yeah, he said the same thing in the rake thread I started and it makes no sense.

Obviously only a few come out ahead, at the expense of everyone else.

I like to play whenever I can, but I can't play 100k+ hands a month -- as such, I would get crushed by the Beast rake.
